1 / 10These are the 10 TV shows you should watch this fall

Fall TV season is fast arriving on all your streaming services and networks, and there are dozens of shows premiering, that are new, old and something in between. As you get cozy in your sweaters and with your pumpkin spice lattes, some of the biggest shows of the decade will be returning for new seasons, new series will be trying to capture your attention and new spinoffs will try to convince you everything old is new again. First up: 'NCIS: Tony & Ziva' (Paramount+, Sept. 4): Michael Weatherly (Tony) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva) return to their star-making "NCIS" roles in this spy caper spinoff featuring Isla Gie as their daughter Tali.

"The Hunt," a French-language show from screenwriter Cédric Anger, was set to premiere Dec. 3. Now, however, its future seems in jeopardy following reports that the series' plot closely mimics that of "Shoot," a 1973 thriller by Douglas Fairbairn, according to The New York Times and The Hollywood Reporter.

Fairburn's novel was translated into French in 1974 under the title "La Traque," or "The Hunt," the outlets said.

The news was first reported by French journalist Clément Garin, who wrote on Substack that Anger had failed to inform Apple TV that his show was an adaptation. Fairburn's novel was adapted once before, in 1976, into a movie by the same name.

The plot – of the movie, the book and potentially Anger's series – follows a group of hunters as they pursue and confront a rival hunting group. Whether enough differences emerge between the show's take on paranoia following a deadly incident and the original's approach to a group of fighters sworn to secrecy remains to be seen.
