Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are better together.**

After the two action stars famously feuded while working on the *Fast & Furious* movies and then apparently squashed their beef, Diesel is praising Johnson and his recent performance in *The Smashing Machine*, the unflinching biopic about mixed martial artist Mark Kerr.

"Let me celebrate Dwayne," Diesel wrote in a lengthy Instagram post Tuesday. "People don't understand what it takes to uphold a global perception every single day. I remember asking our global family who they'd love to see me work with, and a woman named Jan left a comment saying her dream was for me to collaborate with Dwayne. What followed became one of the most dynamic pairings in cinema, two strong personalities who pushed each other and created something unforgettable."

The post included a behind-the-scenes photo of Johnson and Diesel on the set of one of the *Fast* films, poring over what appear to be script pages.

Diesel also expounded upon a deeper layer of his connection to *The Smashing Machine*.

"What most people don't realize is that Mark Kerr was one of the first friends I made when I moved from New York to California," he explained. "We hit it off immediately, and the reason is simple: he is genuinely one of the kindest, most warm-hearted people you will ever meet. He actually trained me for the first *XXX*, so in a beautiful way, he was there at the beginning of my action career. That's the kind of friend he's been from day one."**

Diesel concluded the post by reflecting on Kerr's induction to the UFC Hall of Fame back in June, which Johnson not only attended but participated in.****"Mark Kerr is so deserving of this moment… and Dwayne really did it… He brought us back in time and shined doing it," Diesel wrote. "Proud of you both."

Diesel and Johnson's feud stretches all the way back to 2016, when Johnson blasted some of his unnamed male costars as "candy asses" in a since-deleted social media post.********

Diesel downplayed ensuing reports of friction, saying, "I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don't think that was [Johnson's] intention. I know he appreciates how much I work [for] this franchise. In my house, he's Uncle Dwayne."**

Johnson, who joined the *Fast & Furious *franchise with 2011's *Fast Five*, made similar remarks. "I wish [Diesel] all the best," he said in 2018, "and I harbor no ill will there."

In 2023, Johnson officially returned to the *Fast* fold for a post-credits appearance in *Fast X* and said on social media that he and Diesel had laid their issues to rest. "Despite us having our differences, me and Vin, we've been like brothers for years," he assured.

Diesel also appeared to make light of their shared drama at this year's Golden Globes ceremony, where he greeted Johnson by first name while presenting an award.**
