Berenson, who has been in the entertainment industry for the last five decades, is arguably best known for playing Natalia Landauer in the 1972 film adaptation of Cabaret. The role gained Berenson a Golden Globe nomination, per IMDb.

In a 2013 interview with Boy Culture, Berenson spoke about her experience filming Cabaret, directed by Bob Fosse.

The actress shared why she believes the musical, which takes place in Berlin during the early 1930s, has remained beloved.

"It captures also so much historically. It's interesting, culture-wise. It has great strength and depth to it," said Berenson in the 2013 interview.

She clarified that she didn't know the film was going to receive as much acclaim as it did when shooting it. She referenced that the movie got a total of eight Academy Awards.

"All the Academy Awards, the awards it won, globally, that it had, it was so extraordinary that we were bedazzled by it. It was unexpected," said the actress in the interview.

In addition, the actress said that every scene she shot for the 1972 film, which stars Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles, was "challenging." She said that Fosse, known for his abilities as a choreographer, kept his actors "on [their] toes." Berenson also explained that she was relatively new to acting in film when she was cast as Natalia.

"Every scene was interesting to do," said Berenson. "When you're working with people like that you really want to do well. You really want to do good in their eyes. So it's a challenge, it really is. To be the best you can be."
