See a first look at the Chanel Cruise 2024/25 show in Marseille
Chanel is returning to its motherland for the Maison's Cruise 2024/25 collection, following its La La Land set (and inspired) Cruise show last year. This time Chanel takes over seaside Marseille, the oldest city in France — which vibrantly contrasts both ancient history and modern architecture, with a buzzing art, fashion and food scene to boot.
Ahead of the much-anticipated show this Thursday, 7.30pm CMT (Friday, 2.30am AEST), creative director Virginie Viard has revealed a stunning visual film directed by French film director and screenwriter, Ladj Ly. The almost two-minute teaser features evocative choreography by (LA)HORDE, with dancers of the Ballet National de Marseille — including dancer and brand ambassador Marion Barbeau — running amok through the Phocaean City, from the Vieux Port to the Cité radieuse. Decked out in the Maison's latest, the collection is seemingly fit for a Chanel warrior.

What is Mufasa about?
Mufasa: The Lion King is a prequel to 2019's The Lion King, which itself was a "live action" photorealistic animated remake of the iconic 1994 Disney film of the same name.
Mufasa is a prequel, but also in some ways it's also a sequel — it tells the story of how King Mufasa, the father of Simba, came to rule the Pride Lands. The story is told by the wise old baboon Rafiki (with added commentary by Pumbaa and Timon) to Kiara, who is the daughter of Simba and Nala and granddaughter of Mufasa.
The official description from Disney explains: "Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka — the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny — their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe."
Directed by Barry Jenkins, the musical film will feature original songs written by Hamilton creator Lin Manuel Miranda.

Who is Blue Ivy playing in Mufasa?
Blue Ivy is voicing the character of Princess Kiara, the eldest daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala.
Who else stars in Mufasa?
Reprising their roles from the 2019 film, Blue Ivy's mother Beyoncé plays Queen Nala and Donald Glover (AKA Childish Gambino) plays King Simba. Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner return as Pumbaa and Timon respectively; and John Kani is back as Rafiki.
Alongside Blue Ivy, additional newcomers to the Pride Lands include Aaron Pierre as Mufasa (replacing the original iconic voice actor, James Earl Jones), Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, Tiffany Boone as Sarabi, Preston Nyman as Zazu, Mads Mikkelsen as Kiros, and Thandiwe Newton as Eshe.
While this is their first feature film together, Blue Ivy and Beyoncé have already worked together a number of times. Following the release of The Lion King in 2019, Beyoncé released an album of songs inspired by the film titled The Lion King: The Gift, including the song "Brown Skin Girl," on which Blue Ivy featured and earned a songwriting credit. The music video for that song went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, which made Blue Ivy, who was then aged nine, the second-youngest-ever Grammy winner.
Last year, Blue Ivy also accompanied Beyoncé on her Renaissance world tour, appearing onstage alongside her mother's backup dancers.

Is Julia Fox entering her pop star era? | V0A9GS9 | 2024-04-30 14:08:01
SHE'S AN ACTOR, author, television host and style maven — and now it appears that Julia Fox is adding "singer" to her resume, as she teases an upcoming single titled: "Down The Drain".
The 34-year-old who broke out with her role in the critically-acclaimed 2019 film Uncut Gems before dominating tabloid headlines for her brief relationship with Kanye West, released a memoir last year of the same name — Down The Drain.
Fox first teased the song at the book launch in October of 2023, before reprising it months later at Charli XCX's Boiler Room warehouse rave in February of 2024.
Read on for what we know so far about Julia Fox's new song — and how she's entered her pop star era.
It appears that yes, Julia Fox is pivoting into music. On April 29, Fox posted what appears to be cover art for a single titled: "Down The Drain" on Instagram, captioning the post "

Is Julia Fox entering her pop star era?05/03" — so it appears safe to say that the single will officially arrive on May 3. Although the release is new, the song itself is not — in fact, Fox seems to have been teasing it for some time now.
During the book launch event for Fox's Down The Drain memoir at New York's Metograph theatre on October 26 of last year, Fox treated the crowd to a surprise performance of an original song. Per Vulture, the song was made with producer and experimental composer Ben Draghi, and is "a slinky, woozy piece of self-referential pop with a witchy incantation of a chorus that goes, "I'm a bitch I'm a girl I'm a mother I'm a whore.'"
Four months later, on February 22, 2024, Fox reprised the song at British singer Charli XCX's Boiler Room set, performing solo in a black cut-out dress. Footage from Fox's performance during the evening went viral online, racking up millions of views.
It's a new pivot from Fox, but she's never been one to confine herself to a singular pursuit. "I never envisioned myself being in movies or doing anything I'm doing … I just go wherever the wind blows," she recently told Variety during a junket for her new fashion competition reality series, Omg Fashun, which she hosts alongside Zendaya's stylist, Law Roach.
Whether the single will lead to a full EP or album remains to be seen — but we'll be staying tuned, that's for sure.

During the nearly 30-minute interview, the actress mentioned how "we shut down the world," referring to the pandemic.
"You had to be with just you," Sharon pointed out.
"Now, that was great for people who wanted to learn to bake bread. The whole world wanted to learn to bake bread."
"I wanted to get back to my painting. But for those people who don't like who they got to be, one in 10 people on a global level are having a mental problem, mental crisis."
"We're all trying to confront our demons and we're all acting out. Me too," the Casino star admitted.
"And trying to figure out how to keep getting back up, keep helping people even if we put them down, and make sure we're all back up, and what do we do?"
"It must start with the individual. You must stand strong. And when you blow it. Okay, so what?" she emphasized.
"You have to get back up, get yourself together, and help whoever you think you bumped around.
"And keep moving forward, and instant forgiveness. Instant forgiveness for yourself," Sharon concluded.
The lengthy conversation then steered to Sharon's activism efforts.

As the interview continued, Sharon became teary-eyed as the interviewer mentioned she was picked as a Peace Summit Award 2013 Laureate recipient.
In 2013, The Quick and the Dead star was also awarded a Nobel Peace Prize for her HIV charities.
"Suddenly, I was like, 'I'm in the right goddamn room.'" the 66-year-old shared.
"These are my people. I would stand in the street with these people. I would risk my life for these people."
"You don't get to save lives winning a Golden Globe, do you know what I mean?" she teared up.
'A FASCINATING PERSON'
In an exclusive interview with The U.S. Sun, Alex revealed what he learned from the actress-turned-painter.
"Sharon Stone is a fascinating person to interview – a lovely human being," Alex said.
"Right now, she has found personal fulfillment in her painting and her work for the United Nations."
"However, she also gave a clear signal of a return to the silver screen when offered a significant role worthy of her talents," he added.
"All in all, Sharon Stone was a joy to work with on TRT World."
During the video interview, The Antz voice actress showed off her paintings as she ditched Hollywood and became a full-time artist.
