Woody shocked fans when he debuted a bald spot in the newly-released trailer of Toy Story 5, which sees Tim Allen reviving his beloved cowboy role more than three decades after franchise's first film premiered in 1995.
While Woody's age is never explicitly stated in the film, the fifth installment doesn't shy away from the obvious: the toys are getting old! Fittingly, the teaser features a scene that shines a light (literally) on the balding cowboy.

At one point in the trailer, a poncho-wearing Woody removes his cowboy hat to unveil his hairless spot, which hilariously attracts the sunlight that ricochets off his plastic patch of baldness and into the eye of his now-blinded toys.
"Ooh! Ouch!" the toys say collectively as the light shines in their eyes. "Someone needs a brown marker," Trixie, the blue plastic Triceratops, quips about coloring in Woody's bald spot to match his hair.
Toy Story 5 follows Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Mr. Potato Head and the rest of little girl Bonnie Anderson's toys in attempt to save her from Lilypad, a newly-introduced antagonist in the form of a tablet device (voiced by Greta Lee) that draws her attention away from her plastic friends.

Later in the trailer, Lilypad takes a dig at Woody's age.

"What are you, some sort of old man toy?" the talking tablet tells the cowboy in the clip before Forky chimes in, "She thinks you're old because you're bald, Woody."

Tom Hanks revives his role as Buzz and Joan Cusack returns to voice Jessie alongside Allen's Woody.
Pixar debuted a full trailer for the fifth Toy Story movie on Thursday, Feb. 19, teasing a reunion between the beloved characters in the series' latest installment. It also debuted Lilypad, the high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet.

"The toys are back and this time, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang's jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie," reads a synopsis.
"Will playtime ever be the same?" it teases.
Conan O'Brien also joins Toy Story 5's cast as a "toilet-training tech toy Smarty Pants," according to a press release, while Tony Hale returns as Forky, who was introduced in 2019's Toy Story 4.
New characters also include Craig Robinson's GPS hippo Atlas, Shelby Rabara as camera toy Snappy, Scarlett Spears as Bonnie, Mykal-Michelle Haris as Blaze, and Matty Matheson as Dr. Nutcase.
Toy Story 5 hits theaters on June 19.
