Popular Yogurt Recalled Due to Contamination With Plastic Pieces

Simply Recipes / Getty Images On July 11, Danone U.S., the maker of some of the country's most popular yogurt brands,announced it was recalling all of its YoCrunch yogurt products. The recall was launched after consumers complained about finding plastic fragments in the YoCrunch toppers, which contain mix-ins like Oreos and M&M's. The plastic fragments are clear, up to an inch in size, and may have sharp edges, making them a dangerous choking hazard. No flavor or size of YoCrunch yogurt is safe to eat right now. Product Name:YoCrunch Yogurt (Various Flavors) Date of Recall:July 11, 2025 Cause:Plastic found in the yogurt mix-ins Danone hasn't saidwhenthe contaminated YoCrunch yogurts started appearing in stores. However, its list of affected products includes yogurts with expiration dates from July through September. That means any YoCrunch yogurt that's currently on the market is affected by this recall. The list of flavors includes popular yogurt options like: Yo Crunch Vanilla Yogurt with M&M's YoCrunch Strawberry Yogurt with Granola YoCrunch Vanilla Yogurt with Oreo Pieces YoCrunch Vanilla Yogurt with Snickers Pieces YoCrunch Vanilla Yogurt with Twix Pieces YoCrunch Vanilla Yogurt with Cookie Dough This recall affects all sizes of YoCrunch, too, including: 6-ounce individual cups 4-ounce yogurts in four-packs 6-ounce yogurts in eight-packs 6-ounce yogurts in 18-packs The company is working with grocery stores and other retailers to remove the contaminated yogurt from shelves. By Daniel Wiessner (Reuters) -A county official in New York on Monday rejected for a second time efforts by Texas to enforce a $100,000 judgment against a New York doctor accused of violating Texas' ban on abortion by sending abortion pills to the state, further escalating an unprecedented interstate conflict. Acting Ulster County Clerk Taylor Bruck in a letter to the office of Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton doubled down on his March finding that New York's so-called shield law precludes the enforcement of other states' abortion bans against New Yorkers. Paxton's office last week had asked Bruck to reconsider, arguing that he had a legal duty to enforce the judgment against New Paltz, New York-based doctor Margaret Carpenter. Bruck on Monday said Paxton's office had not presented any new information. "While I'm not entirely sure how things work in Texas, here in New York, a rejection means the matter is closed," wrote Bruck, who is running for county clerk as a Democrat. Paxton's office and the Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine, a group co-founded by Carpenter, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat who championed the passage of the shield law earlier this year, praised Bruck for "defending the freedom generations of women fought to secure." "Our response to (Texas') baseless claim is clear: no way in hell. New York won't be bullied," Hochul said in a statement. Medication abortion accounts for more than half of U.S. abortions. It has drawn increasing attention since the U.S. Supreme Court's 2022 decision allowing states to ban abortion, which more than 20 states, including Texas, have done. A judge in Collin County, Texas, entered a default judgment against Carpenter in February after she failed to respond to the state's civil lawsuit alleging she illegally prescribed mifepristone and misoprostol, the two drugs used in medication abortion, to a Texas woman via telemedicine. Carpenter has also been indicted by a Louisiana grand jury for prescribing an abortion pill that was taken by a teenager there, in what appeared to be the first time a state criminally charged a doctor in another state for prescribing abortion drugs. By Steve Gorman LOS ANGELES (Reuters) -NASA retiree turned private astronaut Peggy Whitson headed for splashdown in the Pacific early on Tuesday after her fifth trip to the International Space Station, joined by crewmates from India, Poland and Hungary returning from their countries' first ISS mission. A SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule carrying the foursome undocked from the space station early on Monday to begin a 22-hour descent to Earth, 18 days after arriving at the orbital laboratory. If all goes as planned, the capsule will parachute into the Pacific off the California coast at 2:30 a.m. PDT (0930 GMT) following a fiery re-entry through Earth's atmosphere. The return flight concludes the fourth ISS mission organized by Texas-based startup Axiom Space in collaboration with billionaire Elon Musk's California-headquartered private rocket venture Space X. The Axiom-4 crew was led by Whitson, 65, who retired from NASA in 2018 after a pioneering career that included becoming the U.S. space agency's first female chief astronaut and the first woman ever to command an ISS expedition. Now director of human spaceflight for Axiom, she had logged 675 days in space, a U.S. record, during three previous NASA missions and a fourth flight to space as commander of the Axiom-2 crew in 2023. Her latest mission commanding Axiom-4 will extend her record by about three more weeks. Rounding out the Axiom-4 crew were Shubhanshu Shukla, 39, of India, Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski, 41, of Poland, and Tibor Kapu, 33, of Hungary. They are returning with a cargo of science samples from more than 60 microgravity experiments conducted aboard the ISS and due for shipment to researchers back on Earth for final analysis. For India, Poland and Hungary, the launch marked the first human spaceflight of each country in more than 40 years and the first mission ever to send astronauts from their government's respective space programs to the ISS. The participation of Shukla, an Indian air force pilot, is seen by India's space program as a precursor of sorts to the debut crewed mission of its Gaganyaan orbital spacecraft, planned for 2027. Uznanski-Wisniewski is a Polish astronaut assigned to the European Space Agency, while Kapu is part of his country's Hungarian to Orbit (HUNOR) program, though he is not the first person of Hungarian descent to board the space station. Billionaire Charles Simonyi, a Hungarian-born software designer who became a U.S. citizen in 1982, has twice visited the ISS as a space tourist, in 2007 and 2009, hitching rides aboard Russian Soyuz capsules on both occasions. But like many wealthy individuals from various countries who have paid their own way for joyrides to space, Simonyi was not flying on behalf of his homeland or any government. Dubbed "Grace" by its crew, the newly commissioned capsule flown for Axiom-4 was launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral in Florida on June 25, making its debut as the fifth vehicle in SpaceX's Crew Dragon fleet. Axiom-4 also marks the 18th crewed spaceflight logged by SpaceX since 2020, when Musk's rocket company ushered in a new NASA era by providing American astronauts their first rides to space from U.S. soil since the end of the space shuttle program nine years earlier. For Axiom, a 9-year-old venture co-founded by NASA's former ISS program manager, the mission builds on its business of putting astronauts sponsored by private companies and foreign governments into low-Earth orbit. Axiom also is one of a handful of companies developing a commercial space station of its own intended to eventually replace the ISS, which NASA expects to retire around 2030. Washington— President Trump said Monday that the U.S. will impose 100% tariffs on countries that do business with Russia if there is no peace deal to end the war in Ukraine within 50 days, unveiling his plans to implement secondary sanctions as his frustration with Russian President Vladimir Putin grows. "We're going to be doing secondary tariffs if we don't have a deal within 50 days. It's very simple," Mr. Trump said in the Oval Office, alongside NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. "And they'll be at 100%." "We are very unhappy, I am, with Russia," the president explained. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev brushed off Mr. Trump's threat Tuesday,saying on X, "Trump issued a theatrical ultimatum to the Kremlin. The world shuddered, expecting the consequences. Belligerent Europe was disappointed. Russia didn't care." Mr. Trump also said Monday the U.S. has reached a deal to sell weapons to NATO nations, and Rutte said those countries will in turn send weapons to Ukraine to replenish their depleted stockpiles. The Pentagonpausedshipments of some weapons shipments to Ukraine earlier this month, but Mr. Trumpreversed courselast week, saying Ukraine must be able to defend itself. "We've made a deal today where we're going to be sending them weapons and they're going to be paying for them," Mr. Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "We, the United States, will not be having any payment made. We're not buying it, but we will manufacture it, and they're going to be paying for it." "This is really big," said Rutte, who said Mr. Trump called him last week to inform him of his decision. "And the decision is that you want Ukraine [to have] what it needs to have to maintain to be able to defend itself against Russia, but you want Europeans to pay for it, which is totally logical." Mr. Trump  expressed frustration with Putin, following his multiple calls with the Russian leader since taking office in January. "I always hang up, say, 'Well, that was a nice phone call.' And then missiles are launched into Kyiv or some other city and I say, 'That's strange.' And after that happens three or four times, you say, the talk doesn't mean anything," he said. "He's — I don't want to say he's an assassin, but he's a tough guy," Mr. Trump said of Putin, adding that Putin has fooled other presidents, "but he didn't fool me." "Ultimately, talk doesn't talk, it's got to be action, it's got to be results," Mr. Trump said. He voiced similarsentiments to CBS News partner network BBC NewsTuesday, saying of Putin, "We'll have a great conversation. I'll say: 'That's good, I'll think we're close to getting it done,' and then he'll knock down a building in Kyiv." Mr. Trump said he'd thought a deal was close with Russia four different times. The BBC reports that, when asked if he was "done with" Putin, Mr. Trump replied: "I'm disappointed in him, but I'm not done with him. But I'm disappointed in him." Zelenskyy posted on X Monday afternoon that he spoke with Mr. Trump, and thanked him and the U.S. for the "willingness to support Ukraine." "We discussed the necessary means and solutions with the president to provide better protection for people from Russian attacks and to strengthen our positions,"Zelenskyy wrote. "We are ready to work as productively as possible to achieve peace." Some in Congress have pushed for even higher secondary sanctions on Russia as the war grinds on. Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal are pushing legislation in the Senate that would give the president the ability to impose tariffs of up to 500% on any country that does business with Russia. Graham told"Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan"on Sunday that these sanctions would give Mr. Trump a "sledgehammer" to end the war. In a joint statement Monday, Graham and Blumenthal said the president's announcement was "a real executive hammer to drive the parties to the negotiating table." "The goal is not more tariffs and sanctions — the goal is to entice Putin to come to the peace table," they said. The senators said they will continue their legislative work to implement up to 500% tariffs on countries that buy Russian oil and gas. Graham also told "Face the Nation" that the U.S. has "given Ukraine a lot. We give them the money, we give them military aid." But he noted that there could be a "plan where America will begin to sell to our European allies tremendous amounts of weapons that can benefit Ukraine." Republican Rep. French Hill, who spearheaded legislation during the Biden administration giving the president authority to seize foreign assets, said on "Face the Nation" on Sunday that now is the time to act."I think it's time for the president to convert those seized assets to a trust account for the benefit of Ukraine," Hill said. No American president has ever seized the sovereign central bank assets of a country that the U.S. is not at war with. Former U.S. officials told CBS News that the Biden administration declined to use that authority because of European opposition related to the unintended consequences on their own banking systems and economy that might result from seizing those state assets.
