He tearfully revealed the shocking reason why he called off his wedding
The chef admitted that he lacks "faith in humanity" after the painful experience
Below Deck Down Under star Ben Robinson is opening up about what led to the end of his engagement to ex-fiancée Kiara Cabral.
During the Bravo reality show's Feb. 16 episode, the 45-year-old yacht chef tearfully revealed in a confessional, "I was meant to get married last year. And I caught her — she had been seeing one of my friends for a very long time."
He shared the story after getting emotional during a crew night out when the group played the game "Shag, Marry, Kill." After sous chef Alesia Harris and chief stew Daisy Kelliher both opted to "kill" Robinson, he reacted by lashing out and then breaking down in tears.
When Kelliher attempted to comfort him, he explained, "I'm just really sensitive right now. I just… I'm more sensitive because everyone's just f---ing let me down, that's why."
Robinson then admitted he lacks "faith in humanity" after the painful experience. "That's it, yeah. F---."

Robinson further reflected on his emotional reaction to the game during the after-show, saying, "I think that maybe I wasn't quite healed."
"Well, that's the thing. You never know until you scratch that emotional surface. I was away from the reclusion of my otherwise reclusive life, but you never know until you put yourself back in the field," he continued.

Robinson also shared that his friend and Below Deck alum Kate Chastain had concerns about his relationship with Cabral. "It's funny, because Kate liked my ex-fiancée a little bit in the beginning, but she kind of sussed her out," he said. "Kate kind of became a little, 'I don't really like her.' She's like a human lie detector."
The reality star previously addressed his broken engagement during the show's season 4 premiere episode on Feb. 2, revealing, "I spent $50,000 on a wedding I didn't attend."

Robinson announced his split from Cabral on Instagram in September 2024, writing, "I am no longer getting married… We have decided to go our separate ways, and I think that this is the best decision for both of us. I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it's important for me to express my circumstance."
He shared at the time that he was finding "strength" in the support from his family, friends and followers.
The pair announced their engagement in May 2023 after four years of dating. "After a wonderful 4 year relationship with my love Kiara I decided to take the next step and propose…" the chef wrote at the time. "I feel like the luckiest man alive!"
