Dame Helen Mirren has been announced as the recipient of a key Golden Globes honor.
The actress will receive the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award.
Mirren previously won her first — and, to date, only — Oscar for The Queen in 2007.
Dame Helen Mirren will add another awards season accolade to her royal mantel of statuettes.
The Golden Globes announced Wednesday that the legendary actress is the recipient of the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award, putting her in a class of honorees that has included Barbra Streisand, Sidney Poitier, Judy Garland, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and Oprah Winfrey, among others.
"Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her career is nothing short of extraordinary," said Golden Globes head Helen Hoehne in a statement. "Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. It is a profound honor to present her with the Cecil B. DeMille Award."

First established in 1952 and named after the legendary director, the Cecil B. DeMille Award aims to honor "extraordinary and enduring contributions to the world of entertainment." It has been given to 69 stars over the years.
Mirren and the currently unannounced recipient of the Carol Burnett Award will receive their honors during the Golden Globes' new prime-time special, Golden Eve, which is set to take place annually ahead of the official 2026 Golden Globes ceremony.
Golden Eve will roll out as part of a "new dynamic weeklong experience across Paramount platforms as well as celebratory kickoff events" leading up to the 2026 Golden Globes.
Mirren won an Academy Award for her performance in the 2006 drama The Queen, in which she portrayed Queen Elizabeth II. She has three other Oscar nominations to her name, including for 2009's The Last Station, 2001's Gosford Park, and 1994's The Madness of King George.
The 80-year-old actress has additionally amassed 17 Golden Globes nominations throughout her career, winning three for a mix of film and TV projects, including The Queen, Elizabeth I, and Losing Chase.
Mirren is also an Emmy-, SAG-, BAFTA-, and Tony-winning performer with six decades of stage and screen experience under her belt.

In addition to her acting credits, Mirren was appointed a Dame of the British Empire in 2003 during a ceremony that acknowledged her contributions to culture and the global entertainment industry.

Golden Eve airs Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+. The Golden Globes ceremony follows on Sunday, Jan. 11.
