A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms fans are getting one episode earlier than promised!
The Game of Thrones prequel stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan "Dunk" the Tall, the titular "hedge knight" and Dexter Sol Ansell as Aegon "Egg" Targaryen, a young child whom Dunk names as his "diminutive" squire. The events take place in between the other hit prequel, House of the Dragon, and the original, Game of Thrones.
The HBO Max series, which premiered on Jan. 18, is based on George R.R. Martin's Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas. While season 1 is based on The Hedge Knight, the second season will be based on The Sworn Sword and is expected to drop in 2027, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Although A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has previously aired new episodes on Sunday nights, there will be no Feb. 8 episode due to the 2026 Super Bowl. Instead, the fourth episode will air two nights earlier on Friday, Feb. 6.

The first three episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms followed the original Game of Thrones schedule by airing on Sunday nights at 10 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max. After the premiere, episode 2, "Hard Salt Beef," hit HBO Max on Jan. 25, and was followed by episode 3, "The Squire," on Feb. 1.
However, the fourth episode was released on Friday, Feb. 6, instead of two days later on Sunday. The episode hit the streamer at 3:01 a.m. ET, but it will still be available to watch on the HBO channel on Feb. 8.
The streamer made the tweak in light of the 2026 Super Bowl — which will air on NBC, Telemundo and Peacock — that takes place on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The final two episodes will revert back to the original Sunday schedule and air on Sunday, Feb. 15 and Sunday, Feb. 22.
