Channing Tatum is on the mend.**

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the 45-year-old *Roofman* actor revealed that he recently underwent surgery to repair a separated shoulder. While Tatum did not provide an explanation for how the injury occurred, he did share a black-and-white snapshot of himself wearing a surgical gown while sitting on a hospital bed.

"Just another day. Another challenge," he captioned the post. "This one is gonna be hard. But whatever. Let's get it in."

The *Deadpool & Wolverine* star went on to detail his brutal injury on his Instagram Story, sharing an X-ray that depicted his collarbone floating above the rest of his shoulder bones. "Separated shoulder," he wrote. **

The next image Tatum shared revealed that a screw had been placed to keep the bones together. "Screwed shoulder," he added. "Yay."

Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum arrive at the "Dear John" World Premiere at the Grauman's Chinese Theater on February 1, 2010 in Hollywood, California.

Tatum is known for performing his own stunts in his films. In September, he told *Variety* that he suffered a leg injury while filming Marvel's upcoming superhero smorgasbord *Avengers: Doomsday* that would require at least six months of physical therapy. **

"We had tons more shooting," Tatum said at the time, noting that his scenes included a "big fight" with Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom.

Still, he explained that the initial injury wasn't the hardship. "It's not about the pain I feel in the moment," Tatum said at the time. "It's knowing I can't take this back. And now I know what the next six months of my life will be like."**

"I just hate getting old," he continued. "In my mind, I'm literally still 30 years old — 26, if I'm honest."

Tatum is set to reprise his role as Gambit/Remy Etienne LeBeau in *Doomsday*. He is part of a seriously star-studded cast of celluloid superheroes that includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Patrick Stewart, Simu Liu, Anthony Mackie, Ian McKellen, Vanessa Kirby, Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Danny Ramirez, and more.

The film will also see Downey make his return to the MCU as the villainous Doctor Doom. The switching of sides comes just seven years after his character Tony Stark/Iron Man died in *Avengers: Endgame*.

*Avengers: Doomsday* explodes into theaters on Dec. 18.
