**Warning: Major *Wicked: For Good* spoilers ahead.**

Never underestimate the keen eyes of *Wicked: For Good* fans!

One of the mysteries seemingly left unanswered at the end of the magical sequel (now in theaters) is whether Glinda (Ariana Grande) is finally able to access magic after being gifted the Grimmerie by Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) just before her "melting."

In the last moments of the film, when Glinda returns to the tower where Elphaba first took flight on her broom, the good "witch" of Oz begins a reprise of "For Good" as she looks down at the book. We also see Elphaba in the desert, in the middle of fleeing Oz with Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), turn back and join Glinda in song, and the Grimmerie, which had previously opened and glowed only for her, comes to life for Glinda.

While the answer to whether that means Glinda now has magic has left fans divided, but one thing has been made clear: the page the Grimmerie opened up to wasn't a coincidence; it was another bittersweet nod to the bond between Elphaba and Glinda.

As explained in the first film, the Grimmerie often shows its user the spell they require the most. When it opened for Glinda, its pages showed two golden hands surrounded by text in the ancient language of the spellbook.

While it would be impossible for viewers to make out what the spellbook says, especially since it's in a fictional language, an X user shared that they managed to crack the code thanks to AMC's exclusive Grimmerie popcorn tin, which features the exact pages shown onscreen.

How 'Wicked: For Good' changed after first movie's success: 'We don't need any of that s---'

When paired with the Grimmerie translation key available on the film's Universal site, the spell is revealed to be an incantation for soothing and mending pain and fear.

Translated, the incantation on the left page reads, "Heal, mend, sinew and skin. Heal, mend and hasten. Feed the wound, cover the bone. Heal mend and revive. Pain & fear allayed when true magic applied."

On the right page, the incantation reads, "Heal. Revive. Nature so willing be soothing, powers conspire from me. Mend. Mending deftly to the wound. Easing quickly soon ensues. Fear & pain now set aside."

But does the book opening for Glinda mean that Elphaba transferred her powers to her? Or did Glinda's good deeds unlock her own magic within?

"Elphaba giving Glinda the book is her saying 'You know the power that you have, and you know the truth,'" Jon M. Chu previously told **. "But there's no answer at the end of this movie, it's a challenge: 'What are you going to be?' We don't know what Glinda does, we just know the possibilities are beautiful."

Grande has her own perspective on the moment. During an appearance on the *Shut Up Evan* podcast, the Grammy winner said she believes that Glinda *does *finally have magical capabilities, and it shows in that final scene.

"I love it so much because I do believe that her magic at the end is earned. I think in this film, she's actually propelled into having a higher consciousness into not just sort of sitting with this fake facade," she explained. "As each traumatic event takes place over the course of this film, it's propelling her to her true goodness. You learn from trauma, you learn from grief. You have no choice. In the end, the reward is that much greater; she does get her magic."

Erivo shared a similar sentiment when speaking with the co-hosts of the *Today* show.

"I think Elphaba's powers exist independent of the Grimmerie, and because she has certain powers, she's able to read the Grimmerie. It's like she and Grimmerie have an intrinsic relationship, and so the Grimmerie answers to her," the actress shared. "But her leaving it behind and trusting it to Glinda essentially tells the Grimmerie, 'You're in new hands, trust this person.'"**
