On her podcast on Nov. 10, Spelling spoke about the divorce for the first time since it was settled

Tori Spelling is clarifying where things stand with her ex, Dean McDermott, following the finalization of their divorce.
On the Nov. 10 episode of her podcast, misSPELLING, the actress, 52, spoke out for the first time since her divorce from McDermott, 58, was settled. They both signed off on the terms in late October, over two years after Spelling filed in March 2024.
"I am officially divorced. It's been quite a journey," she said as she began the podcast episode. "I gotta say, you guys, this is something never said — this was one of the easiest divorces in Hollywood. You can quote me there. Screw it — take Hollywood out. This is one of the easiest divorces [ever]."
"It's so interesting because Dean and I were together 20 years, married 18, and while we had our ups and downs and problems throughout our marriage, we've had absolutely no problems throughout the divorce," Spelling said.
The reason the divorce went smoothly, she said, is "a testament to the two of us and wanting to really step up and be there for the five humans we chose to create out of love and setting a good example."
She and McDermott wed in 2006 and share kids Liam Aaron McDermott, 18, Stella Doreen, 17, Hattie Margaret, 14, Finn Davey, 13, and Beau Dean, 8. McDermott announced their split in June 2023.

"It's so amicable," the Beverly Hills, 90210 star continued. "We have no drama. This is a drama-free uncoupling and divorce."
She also confirmed that she and McDermott settled through mediation rather than in court. "Dean and I came out of this divorce with a clean slate. Neither of us asked each other for anything."
However in court documents obtained by PEOPLE, it stated Spelling's request for spousal and child support has been "ordered."
Per the docs, filed Nov. 3, Spelling cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split and listed their official date of separation as June 17, 2023.
On the podcast, Spelling added that she and McDermott are focused on setting a "great example of how families can divorce, uncouple, and lead by example and still be there for their family," as she reiterated that their kids are "the most important."
"Dean and I will remain friends. We get on better now than we did in our marriage," she continued. "We get along better now, uncoupled, unpartnered, just as two humans that are friends, that genuinely love and care about each other and care about our kids. There is nothing messy about it."
"Dean, in some sort, will always be one of my life partners," she shared. "He is my human of sorts, and I love him very much, and he loves me very much. And our children seeing that, it kind of takes the [stigma], the nasty connotation of divorce off the table."

Since his split from Spelling, McDermott was first linked to Lily Cao in October 2023, four months after he announced his separation from Spelling.
Spelling has been supportive of her ex's new relationship, and McDermott has said the two "get along fabulously."
As she explained on her podcast earlier this year, "I grieved and mourned the relationship during it. So when [McDermott moved on], that part was okay ... My focus was just on the kids and taking care of them, and that was hard for them."
