Macaulay Culkin's children may be big fans of *Home Alone*, but they haven't quite put it together that they're watching their dad on screen.**

The actor, who starred as the young Kevin McCallister in the 1990 film and its 1992 sequel, revealed at a recent stop on his A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin tour that his and Brenda Song's sons, Dakota, 4, and Carson, 3, watch *Home Alone "*often," but haven't made the connection between him and his character just yet. **

"They have no idea that I'm Kevin," Culkin said Saturday's event, per PEOPLE.

In their defense, the former child star noted that his sons are "only 3 and 3 years old," and that he hopes "to keep up that illusion as long as possible" for them.

However, Culkin noted that his eldest is already starting to put the pieces together, recalling an experience in which his son "started asking questions about my siblings" while putting him to bed one evening.

Upon showing him a family photo, Culkin said that Dakota "immediately looks at me and goes, 'That kid looks like Kevin.'"

However, the actor explained that he quickly moved on from his son's comment to another topic in an effort to maintain the separation between him and his character for just a little bit longer.

And, as it turns out, Culkin isn't the only Kevin in the household either. He added that Dakota also "thinks he's Kevin" and even takes credit for some of his dad's onscreen hijinks.

"'Do you remember when you kicked burglars out?' And he's like, 'Yep.' 'You slide down the stairs?' 'I sure do,'" Culkin said. "I was like, 'You liar! That was me!'"

He also recreates some moments from the film with his kids, noting that he and Dakota once performed some of Kevin's signature dance moves together. "Yeah, I do really love watching that movie with my boys," Culkin said.
