The 20th anniversary of the beloved 2005 film, Pride and Prejudice, occurs on Nov. 23. The movie, which starred Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet, warmed the hearts of many, as we were led to anticipation about whether or not she would end up with her nemesis/crush, Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen).

Looking back on the astrology of when the book was initially published — on Jan. 26, 1813, in London, by Jane Austen — the sun was in Aquarius and the moon was in Sagittarius. It's interesting to note that when the movie premiered in 2005, during Sagittarius season, it paid homage to the emotional connection and respect for the original work of Austen. The movie will experience a solar return this year and, with such an auspicious celebration, the film's power endures to this day. There is a new series that will premiere on Netflix in 2026, offering a fresh perspective to a whole new generation on the romantic ongoing of the Bennet family.

Interestingly enough, Austen was born on Dec. 16, 1775, in Steventon, England, making her a Sagittarius Sun with a Libra moon and Virgo ascendant. Throughout history, those who have studied Austen's work have said that the character of Elizabeth Bennett pays tribute to Austen and her beliefs. Therefore, it's clear that the Virgo rising in Austen's birth chart correlates to the vibe we feel when getting to know the character Elizabeth.

In honor of the film's anniversary, see which character best correlates to your zodiac sign below.

Aries: Mr. Collins

Focus Features

Tom Hollander as Mr. Collins in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

Mr. Collins is the arrogant heir to the Bennet family's estate (since they are a family that consists of five daughters). Not to throw shade, but Aries can be self-important, similarly to how Collins deals with his relationship to others. His impetuous and superior attitude is similar to the Fire sign, and it lands him in hot water at times. Luckily, he laughs it off.

Taurus: Mr. Bingley

Focus Features

Simon Woods as Mr. Bingley in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

Despite having a prissy family, Mr. Bingley is a great person worthy of Jane. His loyalty and demure nature connect him to the zodiac sign Taurus. His thoughts are pure and straightforward, making his love for Jane sincere. The romantic factor is high for Mr. Bingley, since he's a Taurus who has no qualms holding back his feelings and passions to win Jane's virtuous heart.

Gemini: Mrs. Bennet

Focus Features

Brenda Blythen as Mrs. Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

Being the matriarch of the Bennett household means that Mrs. Bennett spends a considerable amount of time trying to improve her five daughters (much to her shock, they ignore her advice) and find them suitable partners. She's known to be cheeky and talkative, like a Gemini. Additionally, Mrs. Bennet is known to be flighty and a gossip — very much in line with the Gemini brand.

Cancer: Charlotte Lucas

Focus Features

Claudie Blakley as Charlotte Lucas in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

From the outset, Charlotte (who is Elizabeth's bestie) is aware that there are limited options for her to secure her bag. Her character has Cancerian vibes, as she is someone who values tradition and seeks a life free from worry and struggle. Charlotte marries Mr. Collins, because she understands that she requires a safety net, like the crab, which is what Charlotte says through her marriage.

Leo: Lydia Bennet

Focus Features

Jenna Malone as Lydia Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

At times, Lydia can be a little dramatic, forcing everybody to give her more attention than others. As the teenage sister of Elizabeth, she is boy crazy and her mother's favorite, which explains her impulsive behavior and similarity to the Fire sign Leo. Being that she acts on her own accord and does what is in her heart throughout the movie, Lydia's an unapologetic Leo.

Virgo: Elizabeth Bennet

Focus Features

Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

The heroine of Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennett, is discerning and intellectual to a fault because she can overanalyze situations like a Virgo. Her attributes are aligned with those of the Earth sign because she is mindful of what she wants from relationships — never wanting to compromise, and she can understand and vocalize her thoughts in true Mercurial fashion, even if she may be wrong.

Libra: Caroline Bingley

Focus Features

Kelly Reilly as Caroline Bingley in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

Caroline's obsession with the finer things in life aligns her with the zodiac sign Libra. She cares more about image and status, which is one of the core ways that the Air sign operates. The Venusian attributes of Libra push Caroline to want to be well-liked by others, even if societal pressures make Caroline hide her true appetites from the world to be graceful.

Scorpio: Lady Catherine De Bourgh

Focus Features

Judi Dench as Lady Catherine De Borough in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

Lady Catherine De Bourgh is tough — especially since she has her eye on a suitor for her daughter and won't stop pursuing the match until he commits. Her ruthless style, determination and aggressiveness align her with Scorpio. The Water sign doesn't give up easily — neither does Lady Catherine De Bourgh. In true Scorpio style, she uses her stingers to make a climactic point.

Sagittarius: Mr. Wickham

Focus Features

Rupert Friend as Mr. Wickham in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

In every Jane Austen tale, there is a "rake" — a bachelor who womanizes and has rizz, the vibe that defines Sagittarius. In this case, the "rake" is Mr. Wickham. His gambling habits are proving to be too much of a financial burden because he rarely wins, so he runs away from the problem to marry Lydia. Sagittarius hedges bets and plays against the house.

Capricorn: Mr. Darcy

Focus Features

Matthew Macfayden as Mr. Darcy in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

Once we get to know Mr. Darcy better, we see that there's a soulfulness to his aura. Capricorns can be a little harsh and slightly rough around the edges, but once you get to know them, they have a kindness that is shown. Both Mr. Darcy and the zodiac sign care too much about those in their inner circle, and their emotions come out austerely.

Aquarius: Mr. Bennet

Focus Features

Donald Sutherland as Mr. Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

The patriarch of the Bennett family focuses more on reading and debating with his daughter, Elizabeth. He allows each of his daughters to develop their own personality on their own terms, like an Aquarius parent would. He can be a little austere, but underneath his stoic facade lies a man with a lot of empathy for his children, which is how the Air sign acts.

Pisces: Jane Bennet

Focus Features

Rosamund Pike as Jane Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' (2005).

As the oldest sister of the Bennett family, Jane is described as being beautiful both inside and out, similar to the romantic and sweet sign Pisces. Her spirit and kindness are noted in both the book and movie, making her a profound Pisces, as she possesses a compassionate nature and good looks. Her softness is admired, making her tender disposition attuned to the Water sign.
