Mark Wahlberg has a simple wish for this holiday season: lots of quality time with his loved ones.
The star of The Family Plan 2 tells PEOPLE that his favorite seasonal tradition is "just getting together with the family."
"All the kids being in one place at one time, for a good amount of time, where we have breakfast together, lunch together, dinner every night, and we're all hanging out," continues Wahlberg, 54, who shares children Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15, with wife of 16 years Rhea Durham, 47.
Wahlberg knows it's only a matter of time before all his kids leave home to live their own lives, making holiday scheduling much more complicated.

"We're trying to figure out, in, say, four or five years, how can we be at four places at once?" he quips.
In The Family Plan 2, Wahlberg reprises his role from the hit 2023 action comedy about suburban dad Dan Morgan whose hidden past as a secret assassin comes back to haunt him when dangerous figures track him down.
The sequel finds Dan and his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) headed to London to visit their daughter (Zoe Colletti) for the holidays. Aside from getting involved in more heart-pumping action, Dan struggles with his daughter leaving the nest while he tries to keep a sense of family togetherness.
Wahlberg tells PEOPLE he relates to that "a thousand percent," adding, "Wherever they are, we want to be."
The Wahlberg family get-togethers are often filled with humor, he recently told PEOPLE.
"My kids love making fun of me," the Massachusetts native said when asked about what never fails to make him laugh. "They imitate me, give me crap. They'll do the Boston accent."

The Wahlbergs were together in New York City in September for the red carpet premiere of his action movie Play Dirty.
"I'm so excited that all of my kids [are here], because my daughter's been away at school, everybody's kind of doing their own thing at this age," he said on the red carpet. "I really want to just spend time with them. So it's great that we all got to get together, even if it's just for the night."
He later added that he was able to "score" some cool dad points with Ella for getting her some extra invitations: "My daughter brought a bunch of her friends to the premiere," he shared.
