Macaulay Culkin's kids enjoy watching Home Alone with their dad, but they've yet to realize he's actually the lead of the beloved holiday film.

The former child star, 45, revealed during the Saturday, November 22, stop of his A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin tour that he watches the 1990 Christmas movie with his and fiancée Brenda Song's sons, Dakota, 4, and Carson, 3, "often," per People. Although the boys "really love" Home Alone, Culkin noted that it's a "completely different experience" seeing the film through their eyes.

"They have no idea that I'm Kevin," he shared, attributing his sons' oversight to their age.

"They're only 3 and 4 years old," he said, adding that he wants "to keep up that illusion as long as possible."

Culkin hinted that his eldest son is getting closer to discovering the truth, recounting a night when he put Dakota to bed "[and he] started asking questions about my siblings."

While subsequently showing his son an old family photo that included himself and his seven siblings, Dakota "immediately looks at me and goes, 'That kid looks like Kevin.'" Culkin brushed past Dakota's comment in an effort to keep his secret a bit longer.

Despite not realizing his close connection to the film's protagonist, Culkin shared that Dakota "thinks he's Kevin," recalling a conversation the father and son had about famous scenes from the movie.

"'Do you remember when you kicked burglars out?' And he's like, 'Yep.' 'You slide down the stairs?' 'I sure do.' I was like, 'You liar! That was me,'" Culkin quipped.

Culkin and his eldest son also like to recreate Kevin's dance moves from the film.

"Yeah, I do really love watching that movie with my boys," he gushed of bonding with his kids over his most iconic role.

Culkin famously portrayed Kevin McCallister — an 8-year-old who fends off robbers when his family accidentally leaves him behind during their Christmas vacation — in 1990's Home Alone. He reprised the character in the 1992 sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, which saw Kevin encountering the bandits again when he got separated from his family on a trip. The films also starredJoe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard and Catherine O'Hara.

Earlier this month, Culkin stepped back into the role of Kevin in his "Home But Not Alone" ad campaign for Home Instead.
