Jelly Roll has finally flaunted his new shaved look and explained why he chose to ditch his iconic beard.
While recording a video of himself celebrating his three Grammy nominations, the country music star said he opted to shave all his facial hair after his weight loss journey, where he shed over 200 pounds from a starting weight of around 540 pounds.
"By now, you have probably figured out that I look like a ninja turtle," he quipped. "Yeah, this is crazy. One of the reasons I'd even started growing a beer was 'cause I was so obese, it was just easier to cover up what was happening here, you know."
His wife Bunnie Xo documented the beardless transformation in an Nov. 13 Instagram Reel where she said she has never seen her husband of 10 years without facial hair.

"My husband, in honor of his shoot that he did today, is going to shave off his beard completely because now that he's also skinny, look at that freaking jawline! We want to see that jawline, right, ladies?" she joked.
The "Need a Favor" singer shaved off-camera as Bunnie Xo said Jelly Roll would do a face reveal when he was ready.

Not everyone was a fan of the musician's new look, especially his daughter Bailee Ann, who will need time to get used to it.
Jelly Roll's Thursday, Nov. 20, YouTube vlog captured Ann's shocked reaction to seeing her dad without a beard for the first time in her life.
"Stay over there," she said while hiding in the corner. "Oh, my god. I'm gonna cry! I don't like it!"
She echoed his Ninja Turtle comment, saying, "You look like a turtle!"
His new look comes after the musician landed three nominations for the 2026 Grammys in the best country duo/group performance, best contemporary country album and best contemporary Christian music performance/song categories.
He landed his first nominations for the 2024 ceremony, including in the prestigious top best new artist category, which Jelly Roll said was the first and last time he expected to attend the award show.
