Fans are divided over the latest announcement from Prince's estate.
On Monday, Nov. 24, it was announced via Instagram that one of the late music icon's songs will be getting its first-ever official music video 40 years after its release—but some fans are already feeling a bit skeptical.

Prince's legendary 1985 hit "Pop Life" will be getting an official music video on Friday, Nov. 28, but many of his fans are wondering if it will live up to the hype, considering it isn't clear whether the video will actually feature any footage of Prince.
"Hopefully the music video actually has prince in it…but I highly doubt that," one user wrote in the comments of the Instagram announcement, which comes nearly 10 years after Prince's death in 2016.
"They better do right by this! I'm hoping it was an actual video he recorded but never released!" someone else wrote on Facebook, while others said they "doubt" that is the case.
"If there was no video, he probably didn't want to make one," another fan argued.
Someone else plainly put it, "No Princey No watchie."

But plenty of fans were more optimistic about the new project, with one user writing in the Instagram comments, "Actually im very excited for this! I love gettin new vids for old songs (if done right of course)."
"I'm geeked for this!!" one commenter expressed, while another gushed, "this is huge !"
"Ooh! Interesting Pop Life never had an official video. Hope it's good!" someone else added.

The new music video announcement comes just days after the re-release of the Prince album, Around the World in a Day, which was remastered and mixed in Dolby Atmos. It officially released on Friday, Nov. 21
The first-ever "Pop Life" music video drops on Friday, Nov. 28.
