- *Joey*, a Friends spinoff centered around Matt LeBlanc's Joey Tribbiani, premiered in 2004 on NBC.

- The series was canceled after two seasons — and NBC didn't air its final eight episodes.

- All 46 episodes, including the lost ones, are now available to stream via the official *Friends* YouTube channel.

Joey doesn't share food, but Warner Bros. Television is finally sharing *Joey*, the short-lived *Friends* spinoff centered on Matt LeBlanc's Joey Tribbiani.

Created by *Friends* alums Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Scott Silveri, *Joey* aired for two seasons between 2004 and 2006 but it never quite captured the zeitgeist like *Friends*. It also ended prematurely, getting yanked from NBC with eight episodes still unaired (though they were broadcast internationally by other networks).

In early 2025, *Friends* devotees rejoiced when the first two episodes of the semi-forgotten sitcom became available to stream for the first time. Now, all 46 episodes of *Joey* are available — including eight previously unaired ones. The tales of Tribbiani are finally complete.

But how can you watch them? And what are the lost episodes about? Read on for the answers.**

What is Joey about?

*Joey* saw its titular actor, best known as *Days of Our Lives*' Dr. Drake Ramoray, moving from New York City to Los Angeles in pursuit of Hollywood stardom. There, he links up with an entirely new cast of characters, including his brassy sister (Drea de Matteo) and brainiac nephew (Paulo Costanzo).

** was pleasantly surprised by the early episodes, with our critic calling it a "loose, goofy bit of proof that the sitcom is not completely unviable."

They added, "Even if Joey is a three-joke character, the jokes are proving as durable and springy as a Super Ball, and it's a relief to see a sweet sitcom hero amid all the selfish, jerky males on TV today. The show may come to embody the sign Joey's posted in his new L.A. digs: Nice Guys Don't Finish Last."

Where can I watch the unaired Joey episodes?

The unaired *Joey* episodes, like the rest of sitcom, are streaming for free via the *Friends* official YouTube channel.

The previously unaired episodes include "Joey and the Dad"; "Joey and the Party for Alex"; "Joey and the Big Move"; "Joey and the Beard"; "Joey and the Critic"; Joey and the Actor's Studio"; "Joey and the Holding Hands"; and "Joey and the Wedding."

The episodes are all fairly consequential, with stories involving Joey's visiting father, a fire at his new villa, his movie becoming a critical success, and an invite from *Inside the Actor's Studio, *the latter of which features an appearance by its loquacious host James Lipton.

The unaired episodes also include supporting performances from Neil Flynn (*The Middle*) and Julia Sweeney (*Saturday Night Live*), as well as Robert Costanzo reprising his *Friends* role as Joey's dad.**

What has Matt LeBlanc said about Joey?

Speaking with EW ahead of *Joey*'s premiere, LeBlanc conveyed an understanding that the spinoff was in many ways an uphill battle, specifically in its inevitable comparisons to *Friends*. "It shouldn't try to be *Friends*," he said. "If people say, 'It's no *Friends*,' I'll say, 'Well, that's a good observation. No s--- it's no *Friends*!"

In a 2012 interview with the actor, LeBlanc reflected on the show's cancellation. "If that was a stand-alone show, we'd probably still be on the air," he said. "It didn't matter who wrote that show or what we wrote about. It was doomed to fail because there were five people missing."

He also opened up about the stress he was facing off-camera. His marriage to actress Melissa McKnight was ending, and his daughter had been diagnosed with a rare medical condition. "It was a very, very hard time. I almost had a nervous breakdown," he said.

After the show was canceled, he retreated from Hollywood to focus on his family. "It had been 12 years of nose to the grindstone," he said. "I made a lot of money. I was in a position where I could retire. I want to just be with my little girl and figure out what my life is…. It ultimately turned out to be the best decision. I learned a lot about myself. I matured quite a bit. I developed a bond with my little girl."**

*Joey*'s supporting cast was packed with a number of familiar faces, many of whom found success on other projects in later years.

Jennifer Coolidge, who played Joey's agent, was already well-known for her roles in films like *American Pie* (1999) and *Legally Blonde* (2001) when she joined the show. Following Joey's cancellation, she landed leading roles on *The Secret Life of the American Teenager* (2008–2012), *2 Broke Girls* (2012–2017), and *The White Lotus* (2021–2022), the latter of which won her two Emmys and a Golden Globe.

Gina, Joey's sister, was played by Drea de Matteo, the Emmy-winning *Sopranos* actress who went on to score roles on *Sons of Anarchy* (2008–2014), *Desperate Housewives* (2009–2010), and *A Million Little Things* (2019).

Paulo Costanzo, who costarred as Gina's son Michael, found later success on USA's *Royal Pains* (2009–2016) and ABC's *Designated Survivor* (2017–2018), among other projects.

*Joey* also featured familiar faces like Adam Goldberg (*The Equalizer*), Simon Helberg (*The Big Bang Theory*), and Brent Spiner (*Star Trek: The Next Generation*).
