A new Netflix documentary will recount the rise and fall of the disgraced music mogul, Sean "Diddy" Combs, following his four-year-long prison sentence over his conviction on federal prostitution charges.
The four-part docuseries titled "Sean Combs: The Reckoning," which will be executive-produced by rapper and longtime foe of Combs, "50 Cent," will feature exclusive interviews with people previously a part of his close circle and "never-before-seen materials," according to a Netflix news release.
Each episode will chronicle Combs' media empire and how it masked an "underworld" of dark secrets.
Director and co-producer Alexandria Stapleton ("Hello, Privilege. It's Me, Chelsea") said she was intrigued by the bravery of Comb's ex-girlfriend, Casandra Fine Ventura, known professionally as Cassie, who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him in November 2023.
Sean "Diddy" Combs attends the Sean John Boys and Vibe Magazine holiday skating party at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, on Dec. 5, 2001.
"I wondered how she had the confidence to go out there against a mogul like Sean Combs," the filmmaker told Netflix in a statement. "I instantly knew it was a stress test of whether we've changed as a culture, as far as being able to process allegations like this in a fair way."
A very pregnant Ventura was the star witness in Combs' federal trial and provided days of harrowing and emotional testimony. Another witness, who testified under the pseudonym Jane, testified that Combs threatened to stop paying her rent if she didn't have sex with other men at his behest after she said she didn't want to. On July 2, a New York jury found Combs guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution while acquitting him of the most serious charges of racketeering and sex-trafficking.
"I'm grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories," 50 Cent said in a statement to Netflix, adding he was "proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen."
When does Netflix's 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning' come out?
The four-episode docuseries titled "Sean Combs: The Reckoning" will be available to stream on Netflix on Dec. 2. Netflix confirmed it will reveal more exclusive interviews and materials closer to the release date.

Diddy faces sexual assault claims involving Notorious B.I.G.
Following Combs' mixed verdict in his criminal sex trafficking and racketeering case, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department started an investigation into a newly reported sexual battery allegation against the former rapper. An alleged victim, a male music producer and publicist who lives in Largo, Florida, reportedly accused Combs of instructing him to perform a sex act during a photoshoot in late 2020, according to reports from ABC News and the .
The victim alleged that the photoshoot took place at a Los Angeles warehouse and involved clothes that formerly belonged to late rapper Notorious B.I.G., the outlets reported. "We received an official copy of the report," Deputy Alejandra Parra wrote in a statement to USA TODAY. "Special Victims Bureau will be investigating the allegations." In response, Combs' legal team called the alleged claims "meritless."
When will Diddy be released?
Combs is set to be released from federal prison on May 8, 2028, after serving 50 months in custody, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons' online database. That date is likely to change as he serves his sentence.
Combs' lawyers previously tried and failed to get the judge to either overturn his conviction or grant him a new trial.
