Queen Camilla welcomed a special group of Christmas helpers to Clarence House.
On Thursday, Dec. 11, the Queen, 78, hosted a group of children from the Helen & Douglas House in Oxfordshire and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity at her London home. She declared that "Christmas has started" upon the arrival of the group, which included children with life-threatening illnesses.
The 10 children presented the Queen with gifts, per the Daily Mail, and even helped finish up the lavish Clarence House decorations. Some aided the Queen's new equerry, Major Rob Treasure, in hanging ornaments and other goodies from the Christmas tree (using his sword!). Others, like Ivan and Fatima, joined the Queen in sitting in a historic royal state sleigh, posing for pictures with Santa.

The sleigh was designed by German-born Prince Albert for his wife, Queen Victoria, and was written about by the Queen in her diary in 1845. King Charles and Queen Camilla displayed the historic artifact last week, during the visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and first lady Elke Büdenbender.
During his spirited visit, Santa (or Father Christmas, as he's also known in the U.K.) presented the Queen with an early Christmas gift: toys for her dogs to play with.
"Presents for Moley and Bluebell from Mrs. Claus, as there is nothing you can buy for the Queen!" he remarked.
St. Nick's visit even included his beloved reindeer, and the Queen and 4-year-old Samuel admired the antlers on Dancer.

It recently emerged that the Queen's own children won't be joining her for Christmas this year.
On Dec. 5, the Daily Mail reported that Tom Parker Bowles, 50, and his sister, Laura Lopes, 47, will not be joining the royals for traditional festivities at Sandringham over the holiday. While the siblings — whom the Queen shares with her husband — did attend the royal Christmas last year, they will be keeping a lower profile with their own families this year.
"It'll be every other year: one year on, one year off," Tom said of his plans to celebrate with the royals moving forward.
As for this Christmas? "It's back to the sofa at my ex-wife's," Tom quipped. He shares two children, Lola, 18, and Freddy, 15, with his ex, Sara Buys.
