Drew Barrymore recently opened her heart and her home again, increasing her brood with two blue budgies—which are a type of parakeet—but it looks like the latest additions are wearing her down a bit.
The talk show host took to Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 2, with a series of snapshots showcasing the little birds, where Barrymore appears to be lounging on her couch. A bookshelf, several plants, and wall art are visible in the background, and she's dressed down in a hoodie or robe with her face free of makeup and her hair secured in a claw clip. But, instead of falling down toward her back, the tips of her hair were flipped over and onto her forehead as the little birds made themselves right at home atop her head.
In one picture, she gave the camera an exhausted glance, while she turned her head in the others to show the full view of the tiny creatures nestling into her hair.
Barrymore offered little information about her new additions, simply captioning the comical photoset, "Well, this is my life now!" The vibes were a far cry from the sweet snapshot she recently shared to introduce the duo, in which she shared a smitten smile with the two perched perfectly on her shoulder.

A Fitting New Nickname Sparks Inspiration for a Potential Future Role
Dr. Doolittle, of course, is a fictional character, originating in a 1920 novel and more recently portrayed by Eddie Murphy on the big screen, who abandons his practice as a physician to become a veterinarian after learning to speak to animals in their own languages.
It's a fitting nickname for the animal lover, whose first-ever commercial was for a Purina puppy chow when she was a toddler—and racked up dozens of likes from other fans who saw her post on the social media platform.
Perhaps there's a fresh new role for her in a new iteration of the beloved film series?
