Neilson Barnard/Getty Charlie Day said he "would love" to make a cameo in his wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis' latest show, Netflix'sA Man on the Inside, while chatting exclusively with PEOPLE at theIt's Always Sunny in Philadelphia20th anniversary celebration on July 1 Day and Ellis previously shared the screen inIt's AlwaysSunny, with the latter portraying The Waitress, the longstanding, obsessive crush of her husband's character, Charlie Kelly In real life, the couple married in 2006 and share a 13-year-old son, Russell Wallace Charlie Dayis keen to share the screen again with his wife,Mary Elizabeth Ellis. While stepping out to theIt's Always Sunny in Philadelphia20th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 1, the 49-year-old actor told PEOPLE he would be down to make a cameo in Ellis' latest show,A Man on the Inside. "I would love to be on her show, but I know they just wrapped their second season. I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for a third," Day says. Ellis, 46, stars in the Netflix comedy series as Emily, the daughter of widower and retired college professor Charles Nieuwendyk, played byTed Danson. Charles takes a job as an investigative assistant for a private detective and goes undercover at a San Francisco retirement home to find a missing ruby necklace. Cr. Colleen E. Asked if he would make his cameo in character as a senior — aging makeup and all — Day jokes, "I'll do it. I could do sort of a limp — whatever they want. I'll show up." Day went on to praise his wife's work in the series and share his pride in the accolades and attention the role has brought her. "I mean, it's just the greatest thing," he says. "I, of course, adore my wife, and she's a fantastic actor. Everyone knows her fromSunnyand loves her onSunny, but she's been in all these great things, likeLicorice Pizza, and she's incredible in that."
