Alison Hammond made an emotional apology to her son for 'not always being there' as she received the Role Model Award at the MBCC in Birmingham. The presenter, 49, was among the stars in attendance at the Multicultural Business & Community Champion Awards, held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, on Saturday. Alison scooped the Inspirational Honorary Role Model Award at the event, where she was joined by son Aidan. The This Morning and Great British Bake Off host gave a touching speech as she accepted her award - declaring all her hard work had been for Aidan.
