David Del Rio has officially been written out of Matlock.

The actor was fired from the series in October after allegedly sexually assaulting his co-star Leah Lewis. At the time of his firing, it was reported that Del Rio would be written out of the series at some point in season 2, but fans didn't know exactly how — until now.

In Matlock, Del Rio starred as first-year associate Billy Martinez who works alongside Kathy Bates's Madeline "Matty" Matlock at the fictional law-firm Jacobson Moore. Lewis played another first-year associate named Sarah Franklin, who was best friends with Martinez in the series.

During the Thursday, Dec. 11 episode, Billy did not appear on screen after taking the day off, and Sarah was left by herself at the firm despite attempting to contact her friend for support.

Sarah ended up admitting to Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) about secretly spying on Julian (Jason Ritter) for Senior (Beau Bridges), which got her moved to another team. Sarah then finally got in touch with Billy, who shared that his girlfriend had a miscarriage. The reveal comes after Billy had a reduced role in recent episodes, and he is expected to be absent for the second half of the season when it returns next year.

The Matlock fall finale comes one day after news broke that CBS had reportedly re-opened the investigation into Del Rio.

According to TMZ, the studio reopened its investigation before Thanksgiving and has allegedly interviewed more parties involved, including Del Rio himself and his attorney Shawn Holley.

At the time of Del Rio's firing, Deadline reported that the alleged incident occurred on Sept. 26 and "triggered immediate action by the series' producers and CBS Studios."

The actor was reportedly escorted off the Paramount lot immediately after the allegations were reported.

TMZ reported that Del Rio denies the allegation, however, he has yet to publicly address the controversy. However, his wife Katherine has.

On her Instagram Story on Oct. 9, Katherine shared a close-up photo of Lewis with the caption, "This is the most disturbing human being I have ever met."

She later posted a picture with her mother with the caption, "Mom is here. We are moving forward in love and strength after what Leah did to our family. Thank you for all the love and support!"

The post appeared to be a reference to Lewis's statement about the alleged incident, which also included a photo of her with her mother and a similar caption.

"Mom is here, we're moving forward in love and strength. I'm in good hands," Leah wrote on Instagram after news broke of the incident. "Thank you to everybody for any kind of support and care. Truly, we're moving forward in strength."

"Key word, strength," she added. "Please, let that be the take away."
