Shia LaBeouf was photographed taking a jog around New Orleans and grabbing lunch just two days after he was arrested following an alleged altercation during Mardi Gras celebrations.

In one photo captured on Thursday, Feb. 19, he could be seen jogging shirtless with black shorts, black and white shoes and black earphones in, as he looked ahead. Other photos captured of the actor the same day showed him in a salmon colored shirt, tan colored shorts and black sneakers as he grabbed a beverage.

The photos come after his arrest shortly after midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 17 outside a bar in the city's French Quarter. He was charged with two counts of simple battery.

One of the alleged victims in the incident, Jeffrey Damnit (born Jeffrey Klein), told PEOPLE that the confrontation began around 5 p.m. Monday at Royal Street Inn & R Bar in the French Quarter.

He claimed that the actor, 39, hurled homophobic slurs at the bar and then a few hours later, when staff eventually escorted him outside, began "screaming at everybody" and "lunging at" patrons.

Damnit alleged LaBeouf jumped at him and struck him, knocking him back and the actor punched a bartender in the face. He said that several people ultimately restrained LaBeouf while waiting for officers.

An initial police report obtained by PEOPLE stated that one alleged victim was struck "in his face with a closed fist causing his nose to possibly dislocate" and said he "pushed his nose back into place" himself.

The report further alleged that LaBeouf "used the word 'f----t'" multiple times and that following the incident, the Fury star was transported for medical treatment and, upon release, arrested and booked on two counts of simple battery.

LaBeouf was eventually released from jail and was seen partying on Bourbon Street hours after his arrest while holding his blue-and-white jail release paperwork in his mouth.

LaBeouf's reps did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment at the time.

The actor has previously had a long and highly publicized history of legal troubles. He previously was arrested in Georgia in 2017 on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct and was later ordered to attend court-mandated treatment.

Musician FKA Twigs also filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf alleging sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress in December 2020. The case was settled in July 2025 and LaBeouf denied the allegations.

Eric Dane, known for his roles on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Euphoria," died this week from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at age 53.

The fatal nervous system disease, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, killed Dane less than a year after he announced his diagnosis.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ALS is rare. In 2022, there were nearly 33,000 estimated cases, say researchers, who project that cases will rise to more than 36,000 by 2030.

The disease is slightly more common in men than in women and tends to strike in midlife, between the ages of 40 and 60.

Here's what to know.

What is ALS?

It affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control and getting worse over time.

ALS causes nerve cells in the upper and lower parts of the body to stop working and die. Nerves no longer trigger specific muscles, eventually leading to paralysis. People with ALS may develop problems with mobility, speaking, swallowing and breathing.

The exact cause of the disease is unknown, and Mayo Clinic experts said a small number of cases are inherited.

It's called Lou Gehrig's disease after the Hall of Fame New York Yankees player. Gehrig was diagnosed with ALS in 1939 on his 36th birthday, died in 1941 and was the face of ALS for decades.

What are some signs of ALS?

Experts say the first symptoms are often subtle. The disease may begin with muscle twitching and weakness in an arm or leg.

Over time, muscles stop acting and reacting correctly, said experts at University of California San Francisco Health. People may lose strength and coordination in their arms and legs; feet and ankles may become weak; and muscles in the arms, shoulders and tongue may cramp or twitch. Swallowing and speaking may become difficult and fatigue may set in.

The ability to think, see, hear, smell, taste and touch are usually not affected, UCSF experts said.

Eventually, muscles used for breathing may become paralyzed. Patients may be unable to swallow and inhale food or saliva. Most people with ALS die of respiratory failure.

How is ALS diagnosed and treated?

The disease is difficult to diagnose because there's no test or procedure to confirm it. Generally, doctors will perform a physical exam, lab tests and imaging of the brain and spinal cord.

A doctor may interpret certain things as signs of ALS, including an unusual flexing of the toes, diminished fine motor coordination, painful muscle cramps, twitching and spasticity, a type of stiffness causing jerky movements.

There's no known cure for ALS, but the drug riluzole has been approved for treatment. According to the Mayo Clinic, it may extend survival in the early stages of the disease or extend the time until a breathing tube is needed.

Another much-debated drug, Relyvrio, was pulled from the U.S. market by Amylyx Pharmaceuticals in 2024. Its development had been financed, in part, by the ALS Association, the major beneficiary of the 2014 " ice bucket challenge " viral phenomenon.

Other medications are sometimes prescribed to help control symptoms.

Choking is common as ALS progresses, so patients may need feeding tubes. People may also use braces, wheelchairs, speech synthesizers or computer-based communication systems.

After the onset of the disease, experts say patients may survive from two years to a decade. Most people live from two to five years after symptoms develop, and about a fifth live more than five years after they are diagnosed.

Since the House of Windsor was founded in 1917, the royal family's private lives have often drawn headlines

Some notable scandals include King Edward VIII's abdication, Princess Margaret's affair and divorce and a wave of royal marriages ending in the 1990s

In February 2026, ex-Prince Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, following his alleged relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

Ex-Prince Andrew was arrested on Feb. 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The development is the latest in a long line of high-profile headlines involving the British royal family.

Over the last century, the House of Windsor has repeatedly seen private matters play out publicly. King Edward VIII stunned the world when he abdicated the British throne to marry American divorcée Wallis Simpson in 1936, and a series of royal divorces — including that of Princess Diana and King Charles — dominated the news cycles in the 1990s.

In recent decades, Andrew has emerged as one of the royal family's most controversial figures. In 2019, he was accused of sexual abuse by one of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sex trafficking victims.

Though he denied the allegations, Andrew was stripped of his royal patronages and titles by 2025.

Here are the most notable royal family scandals the House of Windsor has had to navigate over the years.

King Edward VIII's abdication

Edward had been king for less than a year when he announced that he was leaving the throne to marry Simpson. His younger brother, King George VI (who was Queen Elizabeth's father), then acceded to the throne.

"I have found it impossible to carry the heavy burden of responsibility and to discharge my duties as king as I would wish to do without the help and support of the woman I love," Edward — who was named Duke of Windsor and allowed to keep his title of His Royal Highness — said on the radio the day after signing his abdication papers in December 1936.

The following year, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor were married. Brides reported that no royal family members attended the wedding and that Simpson was never granted the title of Her Royal Highness, despite Edward's wishes.

Both Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones were accused of infidelity throughout their 18-year-long marriage. However, it was the Countess of Snowdon's infamous, multi-year affair with British garden designer Roddy Llewellyn that captured global attention.

In 1976, photographs of Princess Margaret and Llewellyn made front-page news and led to her announcing her separation from Armstrong-Jones months later. The former couple, who welcomed two children, finalized their divorce two years later. According to TIME, it marked the first royal marriage in the immediate family to end in 400 years.

In recent years, Andrew has faced a large amount of scrutiny. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's son was first embroiled in controversy in 2010, when his alleged connection to Epstein became public.

He was named in a civil suit against the late financier and convicted sex offender in 2015, in which a woman named Virginia Giuffre accused him of sexually assaulting her three times when she was 17.

He stepped back from his public role following his infamous BBC interview in November 2019, in which he discussed his relationship with Epstein, who had died by suicide months earlier. Andrew denied ever meeting Guiffre, who filed a lawsuit against the ex-prince in 2021. She later died by suicide in April 2025.

By 2022, Queen Elizabeth had stripped Andrew of all his military affiliations. King Charles followed suit three years later, renouncing his royal titles and honors, including the title of prince.

Though he was arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office and could face life in prison, he has yet to be charged with a crime.

The '90s were a turbulent time for the royals' marriages. Princess Margaret's historic separation years earlier paved the way for Princess Anne, Prince Charles and then-Prince Andrew to also leave their marriages. The three siblings' mother, Queen Elizabeth, described 1992 as "annus horribilis."

That year, Andrew separated from his wife of six years, Sarah Ferguson. The former Duke of York remained close to his ex-wife, with whom he shares two children. They continued to live together for years even after their divorce was finalized in 1994.

Princess Anne separated from her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips, in 1989 and finalized their divorce in 1992. It was later revealed that they had both been unfaithful, and Anne went on to marry her husband, Timothy Laurence.

That same year, Diana and Charles announced their separation after both were unfaithful during their 14 years of marriage. In 1995, they finalized their divorce.

Diana tragically died in a car accident in 1997, and Charles married the future Queen Camilla in 2005.

They were officially crowned King and Queen consort in May 2023, following Queen Elizabeth's death in 2022.

The years between Diana and Charles' separation and divorce were marked by frequent tabloid coverage — starting with the infamous "tampongate" in January 1993.

Transcripts of a 1989 six-minute phone conversation between Charles and Camilla were published by the U.K. paper The People, per The Sunday Mirror. In it, Charles joked about wanting to be reincarnated as a Tampax tampon so he could "live inside" Camilla's trousers. The details of how the publication received the transcript remain unclear.

In 1994, the now-king publicly admitted to having been unfaithful to Diana in a televised interview with ITV, per The New York Times. He claimed that his infidelity began after their marriage "became irretrievably broken down."

The following year, he went public with Camilla when they attended a high-profile party together.

The hunt for One-Eyed Willy's lost treasure still captivates audiences over four decades since the release of *The Goonies. *

Starring a motley crew of soon-to-be-stars, Richard Donner's '80s cult classic (born from a story by Steven Spielberg) follows a group of "reject" kids from the "Goon Docks" of Astoria, Ore., who discover a burnt-edged treasure map belonging to a 17th-century pirate. The long-lost gold could save their homes from foreclosure, but finding it will force them to navigate hidden caves, dodge booby traps, and outpace the ruthless Fratelli clan.**

Several cast members, including Josh Brolin, Sean Astin, and Ke Huy Quan would go on to enjoy critical and commercial success, but, for a generation of moviegoers, they'll always be the Goonies. And now they have more to cheer about: A sequel produced by Spielberg and OG screenwriter Chris Columbus is officially in the works.

In the meantime, let's catch up with *The Goonies* cast — but first, you'll have to do the Truffle Shuffle.

Sean Astin (Michael "Mikey" Walsh)

Sean Astin donned braces and carried an inhaler as Mikey Walsh in* The Goonies*. The actor later revealed to EW in July 2010 that he got to keep some memorabilia from the set.

"I had one of the original maps. I had one of the original asthma inhalers. We probably five-finger-discounted a good two dozen doubloons from the set," he recalled. "Those are all gone."

Astin went on to play some of Hollywood's most memorable underdog roles. He starred as the titular character in the biographical football flick *Rudy* (1993) and then played the great hobbit Samwise Gamgee in *The Lord of the Rings* trilogy (2001–2003).

He also appeared in the second season of *Stranger Things* (in addition to one season 3 episode); provided narration and other voice work for Netflix's animated *Epic Tales of Captain Underpants *franchise; popped up in episodes of *Young Rock*, *Perry Mason*, and *The Conners*, among other titles; and also reunited with his former *Goonies* costar Ke Huy Quan in *Love Hurts* (2025).

In September 2025, Astin followed in the footsteps of his mom, Patty Duke, when he was elected the National President of SAG-AFTRA.

He shares three daughters with film producer Christine Astin, with whom he's been married since 1992.

Josh Brolin (Brandon "Brand" Walsh)

Like Sean Astin, *The Goonies *also catapulted a young Josh Brolin into Hollywood stardom, though he struggled to replicate that success in the aftermath of the classic film's release.

"I had a blast," he told EW in December 2007, "but it was the worst f---ing movie I could've done for my first one. After that, everything was like, 'Eh.'"

He found his second wind in the 21st century in films like *No Country for Old Men* (2007), *Milk* (2008) — for which he was nominated for an Oscar — *W.* (2008)*, Inherent Vice *(2015), and *Hail, Caesar!* (2016).

Brolin made his foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the warlord Thanos in the *Avengers *film series. He also had a meaty role as the antihero Cable in *Deadpool 2* (2018).

Brolin starred as Gurney Halleck in the Academy Award-winning adaptation of *Dune* (2021) and *Dune: Part Two* (2024); as Royal Abbott on the Amazon Prime Video series *Outer Range*; and as Moke Munger in *Brothers* (2024).

He remains prolific — in 2025 alone, he starred in Zach Cregger's *Weapons*, Edgar Wright's *The Running Man*, and Rian Johnson's *Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. *He also voiced George Washington in Ken Burns' *The American Revolution *docuseries.

In August 2025, he expressed skepticism about a *Goonies* sequel. "I hope it does [happen] because the experience was so great," he told *Entertainment Tonight*. "The movie is received so well, generation after generation. It's just everything good about it. The trepidation that I have is that you release something else that taints that. I don't want to taint what my memory of it [is]."

In September 2016, Brolin married his former assistant, model Kathryn Boyd. They welcomed a daughter in 2018 and another in 2020. He also has two children from his previous marriage to actress Alice Adair.**

Corey Feldman (Clark "Mouth" Devereaux)

Corey Feldman was already a child star (and later, heartthrob) in Hollywood before his role as Mouth, and has appeared in countless films since the 1980s, most notably *Stand by Me* (1986) and *The Lost Boys* (1987).

Feldman remembers the *Goonies* experience fondly, discussing the many celebrities who came to visit during production. "It was like we had the coolest set on the lot," he said at a May 2013 reunion. "Harrison Ford came and walked the caves with us. We felt like we were in *Indiana Jones*."

Over the past decade and change, Feldman has continued to act in independent productions. He also voiced Slash on the animated *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* TV series from 2013 to 2017. The actor released a documentary in 2020 about the alleged sexual abuse he and his longtime friend Corey Haim (and *Lost Boys* costar) survived as child actors in the '80s.

In 2025, Feldman was one of the first competitors to go home on season 34 of *Dancing With the Stars*. That same year, a documentary, *Corey Feldman vs. the World*, chronicled Feldman on tour with Corey's Angels, a band comprised of lingerie-clad women that drew backlash after a 2016 *Today* performance.

Feldman shares one child, son Zen Scott, with ex-wife Susie Sprague. He's currently in a relationship with musician Adrien Skye.

Jeff Cohen (Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen)

Since doing the Truffle Shuffle as Chunk in *The Goonies, *Jeff Cohen had a couple of small guest appearances on TV hits like *Family Ties* and *She's the Sheriff,* but his acting career mostly stalled out. He recalled in a June 2015 interview with the *Daily Mail* that once puberty hit, he couldn't book gigs anymore.

"It was terrible," he said. "My first love was acting, but puberty had other ideas. It was a forced retirement. I didn't give up acting. Acting gave me up."

Cohen has turned his attention to the courtroom, working in entertainment law — he is a founding partner of Cohen & Gardner, LLP.

Fun fact: Cohen arranged the casting contract for his former *Goonies* costar Ke Huy Quan for *Everything Everywhere All at Once* (2022). In February 2026, the pair reunited on the red carpet for Michelle Yeoh's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.**

For a while, slick shoes didn't quite get off the ground after his breakout roles in *Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom* (1984) and *The Goonies. *Quan spent a few decades both in front of and behind the camera, appearing on the TV shows *Nothing Is Easy *and *Head of the Class,* as well as the films *Breathing Fire* (1991) and *Encino Man *(1992).

After being out of the spotlight for more than two decades, the actor landed a career-turning role as Waymond Wang in the seven-time Oscar-winning *Everything Everywhere All at Once*, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. During his speech, Quan thanked Cohen, his "Goonies brother for life." He then reflected on his journey in Hollywood, telling the audience that "dreams are something you have to believe in. I almost gave up on mine. To everyone out there, please keep your dreams alive!"

Since his Oscar win, Quan rejoined his *EEAAO* costars Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Hsu on Disney+'s *American Born Chinese*; appeared in season 2 of *Loki*; voiced Han in *Kung Fu Panda 4* (2024) and Gary De'Snake in *Zootopia 2* (2025); and landed his first lead film role in the action comedy *Love Hurts*, in which he reunited with *Goonies* costar Sean Astin.

In February 2025, Quan was honored with a hand-and-footprint ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles — and it turned into a nostalgic *Goonies* reunion, with the film's screenwriter Chris Columbus and former castmates Corey Feldman, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, and Josh Brolin joining him for the historic moment.

"I could not be happier for you," Brolin said during his speech. "I know we all are — all us Goonies — here for an honor that is not only totally deserved but celebrates all that is right in this industry."

Quan is married to Echo Quan, who worked as a translator on *EEAAO, *and continues to be by his side as his assistant on projects like *The Electric State* and *Love Hurts*.

Martha Plimpton (Stephanie "Stef" Steinbrenner)

Like many of her costars, Martha Plimpton's role as Stef with the cool earrings catapulted her into the Hollywood spotlight, and she's had a steady career since, though *The Goonies* remains one of her most popular films.

"I'm certainly impressed by the fact that it's really taken such a hold in popular culture," she told Sky News in March 2023. "And I don't think any of us expected that it necessarily would when it came out. I mean, we all had an extraordinary time filming it. And, you know, I guess ultimately it did change all of our lives, really. It's just wonderful."

A prolific stage actress, Plimpton's been nominated for three Tony Awards.** **On TV, she's been on shows like *ER*, *How to Make It in America*, *The Good Wife* (winning an Emmy for Guest Actress in a Drama Series), *Raising Hope* (earning an Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series), *The Real O'Neals*, and *Generation. *

Most recently, she starred in a pair of HBO series: *The Regime* and *Task*.

Kerri Green (Andrea "Andy" Carmichael)

Though she made the point that yellow raincoats are imperative to treasure hunting, Kerri Green has only appeared in a handful of films since the release of *The Goonies*.

In the '80s, she was seen in *Summer Rental *(1985),* Lucas *(1986), and *Three for the Road *(1987), and appeared on TV shows like *In the Heat of the Night, ER, Mad About You, *and *Law & Order: SVU*. The last film she was in was 2012's *Complacent*.

Recalling her experience on *The Goonies*, Green spoke at a Comic-Con event in Ireland in September 2023 about how most of the effects in the film were real. "There was no CGI except the stones coming down at the end when we're escaping, that's CGI, and then the ship at the end, but everything else was real," she revealed. "I think that's one of the reasons why people still love watching it."**

Before donning Sloth's Superman shirt and saving the day, John Matuszak played in the NFL for nearly a decade and was even the 1973 first draft pick and won two Super Bowls as part of the Oakland Raiders. His acting career after *The Goonies* included films like *One Crazy Summer *(1986) and *Down the Drain *(1990).

Unfortunately, Matuszak died a couple of years after *The Goonies *came out from an accidental overdose in 1989 at the age of 38.

Texas figure skating coach Benjamin Shroats, who previously worked with Olympian Amber Glenn, was arrested Wednesday on allegations of sexual misconduct with students.

Shroats, 47, was charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of indecency with a child, according to police records reviewed by PEOPLE, on Wednesday, Feb. 18. He was booked into a jail in Collin County, Texas on a $100,000 bond.

The two charges are reportedly based on accounts from two different alleged victims, police said, according to NBC News.

"The investigation began on February 15 after a report was filed alleging that Shroats had engaged in inappropriate relationships with two of his athletes, one of which reportedly began when the athlete was a minor," police said, per the outlet.

Police did not share additional details about when the incidents occurred, according to NBC News. PEOPLE has reached out to the Collin County Sheriff's Office, and an attorney for Shroats for comment.

Shroats is a well-known coach in the Dallas area and trained Glenn when she was younger, before she moved from Texas to Colorado Springs to train with her current coach, Damon Allen. Glenn started working with Shroats around age 9, she said in a 2014 interview with Figure Skaters Online.

"He's like my rink dad or big brother, making sure I stay on track," Glenn said of Shroats. "While he can be relaxed and chilled, he can also turn up the heat when needed. I can completely rely on him to be organized and consistent."

Shroats is a longtime member of the Dallas Figure Skating Club and the club's president sent out an email to members about his arrest on Wednesday, according to NBC5 in Dallas-Fort Worth.

"We know news like this is upsetting, and we want our families to know we take concerns involving our members and the adult coaches who train them very seriously," Dallas Figure Skating Club President Mary Pottenger said, while adding that the club does not hire coaches themselves — "All coaches who provide private lessons do so as independent coaches, and lesson arrangements are made directly between families and the coach."

MILAN — Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher, fresh off a silver medal finish in cross-country skiing, celebrated with a meters-long pizza and a hot tub session with the team.

"It was incredible," Ogden said of the meal. "I think there's some leftovers and it's damn near time to go and check it out because that was super good."

There was cheese, cured meat and even tuna. "No pineapple on any of them, though," Schumacher said. This is Italy.

"I don't think the Italians stoop to that level," Ogden added.

(From L) Silver medallists USA's Gus Schumacher and USA's Ben Ogden celebrate on the podium of the men's team cross country free sprint final event of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium in Lago di Tesero (Val di Fiemme), on February 18, 2026.

Ogden and Schumacher are part of the cohort at this year's Winter Games that may be turning the page for U.S. athletes in a sport dominated by their Scandinavian counterparts.

They grew up idolizing Bill Koch, who in 1976 became the only American to win an Olympic medal in cross-country skiing. And they "remember vividly" when that U.S. medal drought ended in 2018 after Kikkan Randall and Jessie Diggins won gold in the women's team sprint freestyle.

"Americans can do it, and Jessie and Kikkan and Bill, they all help to teach us that," Ogden said. "And to get to be in those ranks now after this Olympics is really and truly a dream come true. I don't even know if it's fully sunk in that, when those lists get formed, our names are going be on them."

The team win with Schumacher marked the second podium moment for Ogden, who won silver in the men's spring classic after finishing less than a second behind Norwegian star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo.

But up until that point, it was really just Team USA's Diggins — the most decorated cross-country skier in American history — who was bringing home the Olympic hardware in the discipline.

It'll be Diggins last Olympics, and she claimed bronze in the women's 10km. She did it with bruised ribs.

"She knows how to walk the line and be a good teammate and deal with the harder parts of being a professional cross-country skier," Ogden said, pointing to the time spent away from home for training. "That can be really hard but having a quality team and supportive teammates is really helpful and she has really helped us learn how to be that for each other."

As for what's next, Ogden and Schumacher hope to use their silver medal wins on a global stage to ramp up excitement about the sport.

"For us, in a way, the Olympics are just another ski race," Schumacher said. "But because everyone's watching, it's really not just another ski race and being able to perform during these couple weeks every 4 years is of outsized importance."

As to why people should consider the sport? It's a "great way to connect with nature," Ogden said, "in a world where it could be hard to."

American Ben Ogden celebrates winning silver in the Men's Sprint Classic Final at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium.

Speaking of the "natural world," Ogden and Schumacher said, no, they didn't get the "honor" of seeing the local dog that went viral after running on the course during the women's cross-country skiing team sprint qualification in Livigno.

But Ogden's girlfriend, he said, did. "She didn't have any pictures of us on the podium or anything like that. She just showed me a video of the dog and how cute it was."

The men's hockey semifinals at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics are set.

After a thrilling quarterfinal round in which three games went into overtime, the top four seeds are all left standing: Canada, United States, Slovakia and Czechia.

Quinn Hughes was the hero for USA on Wednesday; his game-winning goal 3:27 into overtime secured the final spot in the semifinals for Americans with a 2-1 win over Sweden. Dylan Larkin's second-period goal looked like it was going to be enough, but Mika Zibanejad scored the equalizer for the Swedes in the final two minutes of regulation to force sudden death.

Finland and Canada each won their respective overtime games while Slovakia, USA's opponent in the semifinals, cruised through their quarterfinal matchup by blowing out Germany 6-2.
