She's died a handful of times before in movies — stabbed to death in *Caligula*, shot in the head in *Shadowboxer*, strangled in *Excalibur* — but Helen Mirren "didn't like" how her character was going to meet her end, director Kate Winslet tells **, in *Goodbye June*.

"She did say quite early on, 'I don't really want to be doing this at all, but I'm doing it for you and I'm doing it to support you,'" Winslet, making her feature directorial debut with the movie in which she also stars as one of Mirren's daughters, recalls of their early conversations. "I felt so grateful, but also, I didn't want to be putting her through something."

In the movie (streaming now on Netflix) written by Winslet's now 22-year-old son Joe Anders, Mirren's character, the titular June, discovers her cancer has returned. This time, it's terminal, and doctors say she doesn't have much time to live...in fact, she probably won't make it until Christmas, which is just two weeks away. So her four adult children, two of whom — Winslet's Julia and Andrea Riseborough's Molly — have a fraught relationship, her grandchildren, and her husband, Bernie (Timothy Spall), gather to be with June in her final days.

As June's health declines, though, Mirren — who Winslet says has a personal rule of not playing characters with dementia or cancer, but broke that rule for her director — preferred not to discuss the ins and outs of the illness.

"The way that she kind of managed herself, really, was that she didn't actually wanna talk about anything until we got there on the day. So she would get there, she would be prepared, but then she would just say to me, 'I don't like it today. I don't like, I don't like the gown and the wig and the thing. I don't want to get in the bed. Okay, right, I've got that off my chest. What shall I do?'" Winslet recalls. And I would say, 'Get in the bed. lie down, don't move your head. Okay, action.' And I just had to be very practical with her. What more do you offer someone like Helen Mirren who is going to instinctively respond to whatever's in front of her in brilliant ways?"

Winslet went the extra step to create a set that was free of as many distractions as possible, "not by way of direction or things or words or clever tricks or s---, I didn't wanna do any of that 'cause she would've sniffed that out a mile off and become incredibly suspicious of it, as would I, and as I have done when directors have tried that with me," Winslet says. That meant making herself, the production equipment (cameras, lighting, microphones, etc.), and crew out of sight, however she could.

"Film sets are really busy places, lots of coming and going and people and chaos and crew, and everyone's trying to do their job. So I worked very closely with our crew in finding ways to make the space as empty as possible. So we didn't have any overhead booms; we had hidden microphones everywhere, and everyone was radio mic'd," she explains. "So the boom operator who would normally hover in the corner and just catch that one line, that person wasn't there at all. The children were completely free and wandering, no one hitting marks, just playing and just being."

Winslet says she and the crew also used various hand signals with the adult actors to know they were rolling, so they could start naturally interacting with the children for the scenes — especially important for one particular sequence that comes at the end of the film, when they stage the Nativity play for June in the hospital.

"I also was able to lock off our cameras at times and have nobody in the room at all. So the actors would show us how they wanted a scene to be, and we would set our camera, set our focus, and then I'd say to the actors, 'Okay, we'll leave you to it.' And they'd go, 'Where are you going?' And I would say, 'I'm gonna be just out there. You don't need us.' And we'd leave everyone. Everyone, camera operators included, would walk away, and these actors would be alone with cameras silently rolling, and no people in the space at all," she says. "It really made a difference to how they all felt. It gave that sense of realism and intimacy, and the smallness of it was really meaningful for them."

While June's children spend their time by their mother's side, it's her husband who seems to be in denial about her condition — watching football on TV or going to the local pub rather than face the reality of the situation. But after his son yells at him for seemingly not caring, he realizes the depths of his heartbreak when he finds him singing Ray Charles' "Georgia" — one of the couple's favorite songs — at the local bar, but changing the lyrics to "Junie."

"That was the only scene in editing when I just literally could not stop crying," Winslet admits, "because even though I'd seen it, and I was there on the day, and it was incredibly moving on the day, actually really shaping it and sculpting it in the edit, oh my God, it's just extraordinary.... How much that Bernie is hiding and concealing even from himself, existing in a state of denial and regret about his own life and the impact that that has on him, being able to just communicate on even a very basic level, it's completely heartbreaking."**

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's… Henry Cavill wearing Christopher Reeve's original Superman suit.

*Justice League* director Zack Snyder has shared two early test photos of Cavill in the iconic cape and spandex that solidified the actor's run as the Man of the Steel.

"Henry Cavill. The original Superman suit," Snyder captioned an Instagram photo Thursday. "This photo. It was undeniable."

While sharing another, more close-up shot, Snyder added, "With the last image I shared, and this one we showed WB, everyone agreed: Henry Cavill was Superman. That's where the journey began."

This isn't the first time Snyder has offered a glimpse of Cavill in Reeve's original suit. In 2017, the filmmaker posted a behind-the-scenes shot of Cavill in the costume sitting in a makeup chair on set. However, these new photos are more in character and out in the world, showing Cavill in all his Superman glory.

"First test with Henry," Snyder wrote in the caption of the first photo posted to his Vero account in 2017, of which a blurry version emerged online three years prior. "I knew right away he was my Superman."

As Snyder explained during a 2016 interview, "We didn't have the suit made when Henry was auditioning, so he wore the original Christopher Reeve suit. He put it on and when he came out of the trailer, everyone was like, 'Dang, you're Superman!'"

Cavill recalled feeling imposter syndrome in that moment when speaking to * *in 2011. "All I could think was, 'Oh, God, they're going to look at me and go, 'He's not Superman. Not a chance,''" Cavill said. "The actor inside me was going, 'You're not ready! You're not ready!'"

But Snyder revealed that "no one laughed" when Cavill first walked out wearing that suit.

MAN OF STEEL

James Gunn says it was 'terrible' letting go of Henry Cavill ahead of new 'Superman'

Man of Steel 2013

"Other actors put that suit on and it's a joke, even if they're great actors," Snyder added. "Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go, 'Wow. Okay, this is Superman.'"

Reeve played Superman across four films between 1978 and 1987, paving the way for Cavill to debut as the beloved superhero (with his own modernized suit) in 2013's *Man of Steel*. Cavill continued wearing the cape in Snyder's follow-ups *Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice *(2016) and * Justice League *(2017), and also made a cameo in 2022's *Black Adam*.

Despite a promise of more to come as Superman, plans for Cavill to return to the character were scrapped after James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooted the onscreen DC Universe. David Corenswet took over the role, beginning in this year's *Superman*, opposite Nicholas Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan.

"It was really unfair to him and was a total bummer," Gunn previously said of the way Cavill found out about the recasting.**

What should have been a crowning moment turned out to be one of the worst of Melissa Joan Hart's life.

The *Sabrina the Teenage Witch *star and millennial icon recently reflected on the highs and lows of her career — and one moment that encapsulated them both.

"Aw! Me and [Britney Spears]! This is at the premiere of *Drive Me Crazy *in New York," Hart recalled, while musing over a photo of herself with the legendary pop star, in which Spears is all smiles, yet Hart seems to strain to appear pleased.

"If you look at my eyes, they're very bloodshot because this was what I would consider, if you read my book, one of the worst days of my life at the time," she revealed.**

The 1999 romantic comedy costarred Hart and Adrian Grenier, and took its title from the song of the same name by Spears, released earlier that year.

"We did the press together, and then we went inside to watch the movie, but I was actually flying to Vancouver to shoot the movie *Scary Movie*," she explained. "I was supposed to be the small part in the beginning, that's like the Drew Barrymore knockoff part."

The first *Scary Movie *film parodied a panoply of recent horror releases, including *The Blair Witch Project*, *I Know What You Did Last Summer*, and *Scream*, which famously opens with the shocking murder of Barrymore's Casey Becker.

The satiric version of Casey was meant to be played by Hart, but the role eventually went to Carmen Electra.

"They decided when I did the fitting that I didn't have big enough boobs," Hart explained.****

"I'm driving to the airport, and back in those days, you had the cell phone in the limo, and I got a call, and it was like, 'Turn around, go back to your premiere. You've been fired from the movie.' And I was like, all right, at least I get to hang out there," Hart reasoned.

The teen star had "just been crying" in anticipation of parting from her family, so when she returned to the *Drive Me Crazy *premiere, "my lawyer meets up with me first and says, 'Because of your cover of *Maxim *magazine, you're being fired from your show.'"

Hart could not believe she was about to lose out on the role that had made her a global star: the title role in the WB supernatural sitcom *Sabrina the Teenage Witch*. In fact, the *Maxim* scare proved to be just that, and she continued on with *Sabrina *for another four years.

But believing then it was all over, "I really start crying, and then my dad comes and hugs me. I don't see my dad often, so for him to hug me? I was like, 'Oh my God, my dad's hugging me.' It was just a dramatic night."******

*Sabrina *went on as planned and *Drive Me Crazy *grossed nearly triple its budget. The end of the millennium was not unkind to Hart.

But she never made it into the *Scary Movie *franchise, which helped make stars out of Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and more.

In August, Faris and Hall revealed they signed on to return to the franchise, which has been dormant since 2013's *Scary Movie 5*. *Scary Movie 6 *will also see the return of original co-writer and star, Marlon Wayans, who teased to * *in September that the latest sequel will be "no holds barred" and aim to "make everybody laugh."**

Andy Cohen isn't just the king of Bravo — he's also a dad of two.

The TV host has two children: son Benjamin Allen Cohen and daughter Lucy Eve Cohen. Both kids were born via surrogacy, and although Ben and Lucy were carried by different surrogates, Cohen has said that the two are "biological siblings."

"Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life," Cohen said on Watch What Happens Live in December 2018, shortly before his son Ben's birth. "Though it's taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet."

Cohen, who was 50 when his son Ben was born, also said that he'd "never thought it would be possible" for him to have a family.

"When I was growing up ... I just never thought it would be possible as a gay man to grow up and have a family," he continued. "I'm so grateful to a wonderful surrogate that I'm working with."

Cohen later wrote a book on parenting, The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up, and spoke about his experience while promoting the book in May 2023. "I'm the only gay parent at Ben's nursery school and the only single parent," Cohen told his longtime friend Anderson Cooper, noting that he is "so grateful" for their friendship "because Ben sees Wyatt with two dads, and Ben's other friend, Adrian, has two dads."

Here's everything to know about Andy Cohen's two children: son Benjamin and daughter Lucy.

Cohen's first child, Benjamin Allen Cohen, was born via surrogate on Feb. 4, 2019, in Los Angeles. He is named after Cohen's grandfather, Ben Allen.

The reality TV host spoke with PEOPLE about Ben's birth, saying he was in the delivery room and cut the umbilical cord himself before holding his newborn for the first time. "He was so alert for the first two hours. His eyes were wide open. He didn't cry; he was just calm. I kind of have no words for it," Cohen recalled.

In the same interview, he spoke briefly about surrogacy. "I worked with an incredible surrogate," he said. "My surrogate just viewed it as, she was giving me the ultimate gift. She gave me life. So I'll be forever indebted to her."

During his first year, Ben got to know his dad's famous friends, including Cooper, Kelly Ripa and Denise Richards. He was also named PEOPLE's Cutest Baby Alive.

The proud dad has photos of Ben on Instagram over the years, including snapshots of his first Halloween costume (he was Woodstock to Cohen's Snoopy) and his second Hanukkah celebration in 2020.

In May 2020, Cohen opened up to PEOPLE about life at home with then-15-month-old Ben during the pandemic.

"He's walking now in a way that I can take him out on the street for walks, so that's a totally new thing," he shared. "I wish that I could take him to the playground, but I just can't yet, so I love taking him out on walks."

Of course, Ben has spent plenty of time with his dad's BFF, Cooper and his children. Cohen and Ben were among the first to meet Cooper's younger son, Sebastian Maisani-Cooper, who Ben dubbed "Wheels."

Cohen also shared that his son and Cooper's older son, Wyatt Maisani-Cooper, became fast friends.

"We go over there every Saturday or Sunday for a visit. It's great, Anderson and I are basically just killing time between our kids' naps at this point. It's great to see them," Cohen shared in a March 2021 interview with PEOPLE.

Ben became an older brother when his sister was born in May 2022. Cohen shared a picture of the toddler planting a gentle kiss on his sister's cheek, along with the caption, "When Ben met Lucy."

Cohen's second child, Lucy Eve Cohen, was born on April 29, 2022, in New York City.

The proud father of two shared a photo on Instagram of himself cradling the infant, and thanked his "rock star surrogate and everyone who helped make this miracle happen."

At just 5 months old, she made an appearance at BravoCon in October 2022. Cohen spoke briefly about fatherhood at the event and revealed he often turns to pals Sarah Jessica Parker and Ripa for parenting help.

He also shared some parenting advice of his own. "Get help. Just try to be present," he said. "Figure out your relationship with your phone. Try to have fun. And get help."

Cohen is having fun as a father of two, often posting funny moments on Instagram. In August 2022, he shared a post contrasting then-3-year-old Ben's outfit that the toddler picked out himself (a pair of joggers printed with dinosaurs, which he paired with a Nike tank top) with then-3-month-old Lucy's outfit of a colorful floral onesie, which Cohen called "flawless."

The whole family enjoyed Lucy's first Halloween, where she was dressed up as Cinderella, and Cohen and Ben wore skeleton onesies. He's shared other sweet pictures and videos of the whole family relaxing at home as well, including one of himself and the kids cozying up by the fire and another of Lucy having fun at bathtime.

In November 2022, Cohen opened up about some of the changes that came with being a father of two. He shared that he's had a "total shift in priority" toward staying home with them, whereas before parenthood he was "not someone who ever stayed at home."

He also spoke about having to manage his time differently. "Just when I think I've had a lot of really quality time with Ben, I have to go to Lucy and sit with her and I just want to look in her face and I want her to see me and hear my voice and know that I'm here," he explained. "It's just about juggling time management with the two of them."

While parenting two small children can have its challenges, it's clear Cohen loves spending time with his little girl. In April 2023, the TV host shared photos of himself smiling with Lucy, who wore a sparkly gold headband. "My 👸," Cohen wrote in the caption.

In July 2023, Cohen shared photos on his Instagram Stories of him and Lucy striking a pose during their Independence Day celebrations. In one picture, the father-daughter duo smiled for the camera, in the next, they playfully stuck out their tongues at each other.

Two months later, Cohen posted another cute photo of himself and his daughter, only this time they posed in Cohen's Watch What Happens Live studio.

"She's already looking at me like I'm nuts," Cohen wrote in the Instagram caption.

When Lucy turned 2 in April 2024, Cohen celebrated by posting a photo of the two of them together posing with a giant yellow number two balloon on Instagram.

"Lucy is Two! It is so exciting getting to know my daughter; she's a smart, funny sweetheart who surprises me every day," he wrote in his caption. "And the female energy Lucy is shining all over this house is welcome and needed! It's getting really fun over here! Marking time through the filter of my children's growth is blowing my mind at this later stage of my life."

Yvette Nicole Brown shared a statement amid the release of her former Community costar Chevy Chase's headline-making new documentary I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not

In the documentary, director Jay Chandrasekhar recalled Brown's tension with Chase and the 2012 N-word scandal that led to his exit from the show

"In East Cleveland speak: Keep my name out your mouth," Brown said in her statement

Yvette Nicole Brown is making it clear that she speaks for herself.

On Monday, Dec. 29, the actress, 54, shared a statement on Instagram seemingly in response to being mentioned in the new CNN documentary I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not. In the film, director Jay Chandrasekhar recalled Brown's tension with her former Community costar Chevy Chase and the 2012 N-word scandal that led to his exit from the show.

"These are things I've never spoken of publicly and perhaps never will," Brown began. "Anyone currently speaking FOR or ABOUT me with perceived authority is speaking without EVER speaking to me about the things they claim to know about. They actually don't really know me — at all."

"They also have no knowledge of my relationship with anyone I've worked with & cannot credibly speak on any current or previous issues," she continued. "I hate that this all had to be said. In East Cleveland speak: Keep my name out your mouth."

In her caption, Brown shared that her "motto" is "do your own work so you don't become labor for others."

"Beyond that truth, if I have something to say, I have NO problem saying it," she said. "I've never had a problem speaking up and out with my whole chest when it is warranted or I when think it will change a wayward mind or some disgusting behavior."

Brown added that when she chooses "not to speak on something it's because it will not change a thing and more importantly because it is most likely tawdry, low-vibrational and dumb and therefore BENEATH me."

"I don't sully myself for anyone," she said. "We don't defile over here. And when someone chooses to sully or defile themselves, I let them — BIG age or not. And they need to own fully what they alone have done without placing blame or looking for scapegoats. Don't smear any of that mess over here for clout or reputation rehabilitation. This side of the street remains clean."

"Read between whatever lines you need to, but before you run anywhere with anything I've said here, make sure YOU know what YOU'RE talking about, too. Mmkay?" she concluded her caption. "I will not be saying another word about any of this mess... again, because it is beneath me. No one else should be chiming in on MY behalf, either."

Brown did not name Chase or Chandrasekhar directly in her post, and her representatives have not responded to PEOPLE's request for comment. Chase does not mention Brown by name at all in I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not.

In I'm Chevy Chase, Chandrasekhar, 57, said he "was there, directing, the night that Chevy Chase got fired from Community." He said the events could be traced back to a "blackface" hand puppet bit written for Chase's character, Pierce Hawthorne.

Chandrasekhar recalled Chase "said something" to Brown, though he claimed he did not hear what exactly was said.

"I know that there was a history between [Chevy and Yvette] around race, and she got up and stormed out of there," Chandrasekar said. "Chevy storms off, so the producer is like, 'We need Yvette in the scene, right?' I'm like, 'Yeah, she's in the next scene.' And he goes, 'Well, she won't come out unless Chevy apologizes to her.' "

After filming that day, Chandrasekhar recalled someone leaking that there was a "racial incident" on set to The Hollywood Reporter. When the cast returned to set after the leak, the director said Chase had a "full meltdown."

Chandrasekhar said Chase came "storming onto the set, and he goes, 'Who f----- me over?' … 'My career is ruined! I'm ruined!' Like, it's a full meltdown. 'F--- all of you!' "

"And I'm like, 'Alright, let's shoot the scene.' He never ended up coming back after that," he said.

Following the 2012 incident, production was halted, and Chase was reportedly forced to issue an apology. The actor left Community after season 4, which aired in 2013, though he returned briefly for one episode in 2014.

Chase's exit came not only after the headline-making incident but also a very public feud with creator Dan Harmon over creative and on-set disagreements, which are also discussed in I'm Chevy Chase.

"It was out in the open that Chevy Chase was a little difficult on Community, and I'm being nice. People were talking about it, enough that Dan did that thing at the wrap party," Chandrasekhar said in the documentary, referring to when Harmon, 52, got party guests to say, "F---- you, Chevy!" — which led to the infamous and profanity-laden leaked voicemail the comedian left for the show creator.

I'm Chevy Chase and You're Not, directed by Marina Zenovich, premieres Jan. 1 at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST on CNN.

WWE superstars Sydney Zmrzel and Anthony Luke — who perform under the ring names Maxxine Dupri and Kam Hendrix, respectively — got married on Dec. 31 in Naples, Florida

"We wanted the whole week to feel like a vacation surrounded by our loved ones," the bride tells PEOPLE

The couple have been in a relationship for "nearly seven years," and look forward to "eventually starting a family" together

A new tag-team enters 2026 as WWE superstars Sydney Zmrzel and Anthony Luke wed on New Year's Eve.

Zmrzel (also known as Maxxine Dupri), 28, and Luke (also known as Kam Hendrix), 29, celebrated a big win outside the ring as they tied the knot on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.

"I was the little girl who had her wedding planned since she could talk, and this week is that dream coming to life; an ethereal escape with everyone who's been part of our story," Zmrzel exclusively tells PEOPLE.

The beach nuptials were attended by 180 guests, including many current and former WWE stars. Among the notable guests were Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, Otis, Chelsea Green, Shayna Baszler, Indi Hartwell, Karrion Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, Deonna Purrazzo, Matt Cardona, and Steve Maclin. Also in attendance were professional football players Keith Ismael and Ryan Pope, and content creators Chase DeMoor, Gabrielle Moses, Quori-Tyler Bullock, Anna Morris, Jenna Hillman, Rachel Solomon, and Ashley Ippolito.

A lively welcome party was held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, to kick off the celebration.

"We wanted the whole week to feel like a vacation surrounded by our loved ones — an escape from the chaos of everyday life to focus solely on celebrating our marriage," Zmrzel says, adding, "We wanted something intimate yet full of celebration — a two-day party of love with our closest family and friends."

The following day, everyone gathered again at the same venue, this time on the beach lawn where a pianist and vocalist performed live for the "simple yet stunning" ceremony.

Zmrzel walked down the aisle to the tune of "Yebba's Heartbreak" by Drake and YEBBA. She turned heads wearing a WONÁ Concept gown that she instantly fell in love with after seeing it for the first time in New York due to its "timeless simplicity.""Since I get to wear rhinestones and statement pieces for work, I wanted my wedding look to be stripped back and classic," Zmrzel explains. "The drop waist is stunning, and the neck scarf adds the perfect modern touch."

The WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion's makeup and hair was done by Dorka Jones and Taylor Zmrzel, respectively. She later changed into a mini dress from Rosie Etienne Bridal that was "playful, chic and perfect for dancing into the New Year."

"I love that I can be completely myself around Sydney, she never judges me," Luke gushes of his beautiful bride. "She's passionate, caring, and always wants what's best for me."

With the sparkling shoreline and swaying palm trees as their backdrop, Zmrzel and Luke exchanged handwritten vows with their wedding party seated. Zmrzel's cousin, Marine Corps Veteran Zack Zmrzel, officiated the ceremony, and Ismael led a prayer to bless the couple's future together.

"Marriage is about serving and honoring one another — a reflection of God's unconditional love," the bride says. "It's a lifelong commitment to choose grace, forgiveness, and growth through every season; ultimately, becoming one."

She continues, "Anthony is the most loyal, protective, loving, and absolutely hilarious partner I could ever dream of."

Described as "ethereal, angelic, and heavenly with a vintage twist," the reception followed a yellow color scheme in honor of Zmrzel's late brother Wyatt's favorite color. Guests entered via a butter yellow doorway into a faux hallway lined with gold frames displaying seating assignments. They were then met with white blooms, draped curtains, soft candlelight and a butter yellow vintage bar.

"Our biggest non-negotiable was keeping the focus on what truly matters — our marriage," Zmrzel says. "We wanted to be surrounded by love, honor those who are no longer with us, and keep the bar flowing with incredible cocktails.

The newlywed wrestlers' first dance was "a whole performance." They captured everyone's attention by dancing to a mixed trio of songs: Old Dominion's "One Man Band," Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie," and Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love."

After dinner, guests enjoyed late-night bites of sliders, s'mores, and cake pops. Signature cocktails flowed until 1 a.m. while mini espresso martinis were passed around the dance floor.

"It's surreal to think we've been together nearly seven years and now get to celebrate our marriage with the wedding of our dreams," Zmrzel says. "It's truly euphoric — a feeling of love, gratitude, and excitement for everything ahead."

Zmrzel and Luke met years ago on the Fourth of July at a nightclub in South Lake Tahoe, California. In "a breathtaking surprise," Luke proposed with a diamond ring from Bay Hill Jewelers on Dec. 23, 2024, in Troncones, Mexico.

The couple is "soaking up every last magical moment with [their] friends and family" in Naples before heading home. Their official honeymoon will come later.

"We're embracing the joy of this chapter before heading back to the ring," Zmrzel says, adding, "We're so excited to keep building together. We challenge each other to grow every day, and we can't wait to continue this journey, eventually starting a family of our own."
