Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred to a new federal prison.
The 56-year-old was moved from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, a representative for the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. Both federal correctional institutions are low-security prisons.
“We can confirm that Sean Combs transferred to FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, October 16, 2026,” the FBP rep said. “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer.”
Juda Engelmayer, a spokesperson for Combs, shared a statement about the move with EW on Friday.
“We appreciate the Bureau of Prisons taking the safety and security of Sean and everyone involved seriously,” he said. “His transfer from one low-security facility to another is an important distinction, and while we cannot speak to the BOP’s specific reasons for the move, it is consistent with a decision made with safety and security in mind. We are grateful for the attention being given to his well-being and hope he can continue serving his time without unnecessary disruption.”
The transfer comes days after the rap mogul was reportedly taken to the hospital after suffering a head injury inside Fort Dix on Saturday. PEOPLE reported that the injury was not life-threatening and he returned to the prison the same day. He was then placed in solitary confinement.

It’s unclear what caused the injury. A representative for Fort Dix told EW on Monday, “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including quarters assignment or medical status.”
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related charges. Last year, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was found not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking.
After previously being moved up in April, his release date was once again moved up in September. He is now expected to be released from prison on March 2, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
