Cinnamon British Shorthair Kitten Grows Up to Look Just Like a Teddy Bear

I can’t think of a single breed of kitten that isn’t utterly adorable, but not all of them become even cuter with age the way that British Shorthair cats do. And when they’re that rare, toasty cinnamon color? Even better.
So I’m not surprised at all to see that Cookie the kitten not only became more adorable as an adult cat, but now that he’s all grown up, he looks like a real, live teddy bear.
The first clip shows a very tiny Cookie, walking toward the camera. Then, in the next moment, he’s all grown up and perfectly huggable. Look at that face!
Cookie has the prettiest cinnamon colored coat and matching amber eyes, so not only is he a handsome cat, but he also looks totally unreal. If someone told me this was a stuffed animal and not a living cat, I would believe them.
I just know that his humans must know exactly how lucky they are to have such a precious roommate in their home.
One commenter said that he went from “cinnamon roll to cinnamon loaf,” and I have to agree. This is one scrumptious cat.

Do British Shorthair Kittens Change Color as They Grow?
You may have noticed that Cookie’s coat is much darker now than it was when he was a kitten, and no, that’s not a problem with the lighting in the videos.
British Shorthair cats aren’t just special because many of the grow up to look like teddy bears — their coat color often changes as they grow, too.

As one site dedicated to this beautiful breed points out, many British Shorthairs’ coat color is still developing during their kittenhood, so it may change a bit by the time they hit adulthood.
This happens most commonly in golden colored kittens, with blue kittens’ shades getting lighter or darker as they get older. If a cat has tabby markings, those might also fade as they get older, leaving them with a solid colored coat.
Cookie really came into his own as his coat became darker and his transformation into teddy bear became complete. He’s too cute!
