"I hope you don't mind. I wanted to let you in on something that's private that I haven't talked about publicly yet," McCain tells Vance. "I have two little girls. They are almost 5 and almost 3. And I just am entering my second trimester, I'm pregnant with my third." "I know this is a weird way to announce it, but I'm very nervous about...it's a boy. I'm very nervous about having a boy. And I'm very nervous about having three children. Very." McCain is already mom to daughters Clover Jade, 2, and Liberty Sage, 4, whom she shares with Domenech. In 2023, McCain spoke with PEOPLE and shared that she believes in "keeping things really basic" when it comes to her parenting style. "I feel so lucky just to have children becauseI didn't know if I was ever going to be ableto have children," she said at the time. "I feel so lucky to be in this really sweet spot in my life right now. I'm 39 and I'm not young anymore and I have these like young kids. I just really try and live in a moment with them and really appreciate everything, even when it's not glamorous." Recalling a time when Clover was sick with COVID, McCain said, "It was really scary. She got a fever for the first time and it was just figuring that out with my husband and our pediatrician. It's so intense, but it's all part of the journey of being a parent.
