A LOTTERY player has landed an instant win worth hundreds of thousands while laying in bed.
The lucky resident decided to play their state's unique game again before falling asleep and cashed in big last month.
On April 7, the unnamed woman from Paris, Kentucky, about 18 miles northeast of Lexington told lottery officials she and her husband were lying awake at night using their phones to try at the Instant Play progressive jackpot, per a press release.
"I was just lying in bed playing the lottery," she said.
"My husband was sitting right there next to me watching."
She explained that after a few unlucky bouts, they decided to stop playing but wanted to give it at least one more go around.
"We kept saying, 'should we stop now?'" the anonymous winner recalled.
"We decided to push it one more time and the rest is history."
That last push proved to be more than worth it.
The woman earned the Coins of the Titans Progressive jackpot worth $282,454.59.
She'd switched up her strategy on the last turn and wagered $5, leading to a larger total if she won.
"It just hit, and the stars kept coming," the Paris resident told Kentucky Lottery officials.
<!-- End of Brightcove Player --> The jackpot amount was revealed when the stars finally stopped, and the couple couldn't believe their eyes.
"It was a good feeling," the woman's husband said.
"You really don't believe it."
The woman said she, unsurprisingly, couldn't sleep too well after the life-altering win.
NOT SO FAST
By the end of the week, the couple went to the Kentucky Lottery headquarters in Louisville and walked out with a check for $203,367.31 after deciding to take a lump sum distribution.
A chunk was taken out of the money for taxes.

That means $79,087.28 wasn't the couple's to keep.
Still, they made a significant profit on the $5 investment and told officials they planned to use the funds to pay off bills and save.
